This is our hub when we visit the city. Some of the places we love are: REI, Goodwill, Zenith Tea & Antiques, Enchanted Garden Smoothies, Spring Hill Suites, and Carson Street. Stop by the cozy Chamber of Commerce on Carson to get the scoop on the area as well as the city. And, the area is a short trip to any other neighborhood you would wish to visit. Love it!

This is a unique neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Once a steel workers town with bars and little restaurants, it has reinvented itself in the last 20 years and now is a thriving place to live, eat, drink, go to the theater, and just hang out.

Southside has a TON of bars/restaurants. East Carson gets crowded on weekend nights. There are many shops scattered along the main street. Southside Works has a movie theater, shops, and restaurants. There is actually a lot of parking for such a congested area/neighborhood.

I absolutely love this area, so many high end stores. They even have a cheesecake factory which lots of people love.

The Southside is an eclectic neighborhood with one main drag (East Carson Street) that spans about 20 blocks full of shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, coffee shops, etc. More importantly, the Southside is a neighborhood where all types of people live ~ yes, there are college students, but this is a small portion of the people who call the Southside "home". This neighborhood is filled with people of all ages who live here and make the Southside a vibrant and energetic community. Despite popular opinion, there are plenty of places to park throughout the neighborhood and there are 3 large parking garages in the Southside Works. Give yourself a few hours to spend here ~ park in the Southside works, grab a coffee somewhere (several locally owned spots), shop around in the stores, stop and have lunch at one of the many options you have, shop some more and then maybe see a show at the City Theater or the Southside Works Cinema. Definitely give yourself time to walk down the river trail that literally could take you to Washington DC (seriously!). The trail is well maintained, lovely, and definitely worth it. Check out the new dock by Hofbrahaus ~ it is stunningly beautiful and even more amazing if you walk up the ramp of the Hot Metal Bridge and check out the views of the city. Enjoy yourself ~ this is an amazing community!
