This area has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, bars, and more. It is a good place to go when wanting to go out at night. I have been concerned lately though with the amount of crime that has been reported in this area on the news lately, but I have never personally experienced in problems while in the area.

Since I live in Pittsburgh, the South Side is a place I often frequent. This is an interesting place and offers an array of restaurants, shops, and bars. During the day it is family friendly and you can walk the streets - stop at a candy shop, ice cream parlor, or a store. The summer brings bike nights which offers great people and motorcycle watching. Night time brings an interesting crowd - many 20 something's are in the bars. The area at night is a bit shady- there has been more crime at night over the past year but the city is doing a lot to bring back a safer environment. If you visit Pittsburgh, you must visit the South side. Steeler game days, Mardi Gras, and St. Patrick's day are wild events here.

Visited Cheesecake Factory, which was fine, but no longer has valet parking and had to park in garage about 2 blocks away...not bad, but on walk there passed 2 vagrants and a group of drunk college kids

Many cities are undergoing transformation, but none more pleasant to see than the rebirth of the South Side of the city of Pittsburgh. When American Eagle relocated their headquarters here several years ago, the Southside was already well into its imitation of the Phoenix. A city rising from the ashes of its lost industrial Steel commerce; rebuilding, renovating and restoration is leading this revitalized retail and Restaurant section, booming with young professional housing. A must see for not only visitors but County residents who haven't see the new South Side.

A nice place in the daytime, but a little scary after 10 pm unless you're a college age person. The area is difficult to park in and seems to get a little bit wild later in the evening.
