“Not as good as the duquesne incline”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

The view from the duquesne incline is far better than this one. Also, access to this incline is an issue. You have to park some distance away and then walk all the way to the station.

“Funicular Fun”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

The Monongahela Incline is a historic inclined plane railroad, or funicular. It runs from Station Square on the Southside to Mount Washington. Station Square is a large retail, restaurant complex and you can park there. Mount Washington has a few retail stores near this end of Grandview Ave and a walkway with several observation platforms for enjoying the Pittsburgh Cityscape. At the other end of Grandview Ave is the Duquesne Incline and several upscale restaurants.

“The Other Incline”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

This the incline that is close to Station Square - so it makes for a convenient side trip if you are in that area. I give it the 4 green circles on a price/experience basis - for $3 it is very worth doing - but don't expect Disneyland. Make the minor effort to look around Mt. Washington when you get to the top. Plenty of places to grab a drink - or on a warmer day have an ice cream. Good overlook of the City.

Whenever People visit Pittsburgh we always take them to ride one of the two inclines. They are always amazed.
