“A Highlight of our Annual Christmas in Pittsburgh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2011

Our family, all ages, annually join for Christmas in the City--our favorite city is Pittsburgh. Check it out it's website, there's lots to see and do, but during that 3 day stay, everyone insists on walking across Smithfield Street Bridge and riding the incline. The view of the 3 rivers and the restored city is spectacular, with some snow, it's even more beautiful day or night. The houses and the church on the street are magnificent too. When you leave the incline building, go to the right and climb to the top of the hill to enjoy viewing platforms. Always take a camera, it's erfect background for family pictures or city skyline. The cost is $3.25 CASH ONLY The change machines may be empty, so be sure to take exact change. Check out the rest of the special displays and events in the city at Christmas time. It's a bargain place to enjoy carolers, window displays, Christmas concerts on the streets, amazing displays, Carriage rides, and ice skating.

“Very cool view of Pittsburgh at night!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2011

We went up the incline after sundown and I had not previously been to this location. Beautiful views and a really nice platform from which to take pictures. A must on a romantic night out with your significant other (weather permitting). Pretty cheap for its worth!

“Wonderful view and a nice piece of Pittsburgh history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

We enjoyed our afternoon ride up and down the incline, with a stop at the top to enjoy the view. Our Pittsburgh friends said the view was not as nice as it could be, because of some mist, but we didn't notice--it really was a terrific view!

“Great View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

The ride up is fun, although make sure you are in the bottom two rows are you view is limited.

Once at the top take the walk towards the other incline, the views are amazing. So are some of the houses along the route.

However - We took the other incline down and walked back to our car at the base of the Monongahela Incline. DO NOT do this. The way back is not marked, and since we went up to see the sunset, we were walking back in the dark. Side walk was covered in garbage, and cars going by at 55. Terrible experience getting back to the car.

But definetly go up, the views are amazing.
