“Pittsburgh's Ghetto”
Reviewed July 14, 2008

Okay, the view from the top is remarkable, but that's about all I liked about it. Unable to find parking at the incline, I decided to drive to the top. Getting up there was confusing and after arriving at the top I got lost. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to get back down again. To top it off, the place looked like a ghetto. I could not wait to get out of there. Actually living there would be dreadful, especially in the winter.

“Pittsburgh must-do”
Reviewed August 2, 2006

What do you do when it's your first time in Pittsburgh? First, come into the city through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Second, grab yourself a Primanti Brothers sandwich. Third, take a trip up one of the inclines to see the view from Mt. Washington.

Although there really isn't much to do once you get to the top unless you want to eat at really expensive restaurants, the view of the city from Mt. Washington is second to none. No wonder Pittsburgh has been said to have one of the best skylines over and over again.

“A must for great views!”
Reviewed September 4, 2005

A must do on your visit to Pittsburgh I feel is a trip to Grandview Ave. in Mt. Washington. Go to Station Square and ride the Monongahela Incline up to Grandview Ave. ($1.75 one-way, but get a transfer ticket to ride down for less. Transfer good at both inclines I think.) We walked about a mile or so then down Grandview Ave. to the Duquesne Incline but you could just go a short way to a number of overlooks. Near the Duquesne Incline are some restaurants where we had lunch with a great city view. Now if you do not walk Grandview Ave., make sure to go to the top of the Duquesne Incline because, in my opinion, those views are even better than the lookouts near the Monongahela Incline. (More pictures at the Duquesne Incline listing.)
