“Best view of city!”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Whether you've lived here your whole life or are just visiting, the view from on top of Mt Washington never gets old. The best way to visit is to ride up via one of the inclines. There are not many other places in the world that you can do this. The Duquesne Incline has a free parking lot at the base and will give you a better view of the city and stadiums. The Mon Incline will take you up closer to the overlooks. Personally, I prefer to do this at night to see the lights of the city. The daytime view is spectacular as well. It's also the best place in the city to watch the 4th of July fireworks. When you're up there, be sure to check out the bars and restaurants on Shiloh St, about a one block walk off of Grandview Ave near the Mon Incline.

“At at the Grandview Rest.”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Wonderful view of the city...go in the evening...great pictures! Had seats right at the windows...use reservations and ask for window seating. They require a $50.00 deposit on reservations...which was fine.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and got married at St. Mary of the Mount, Mt. Washington. On a recent trip back to Pgh. We visited Mt. Washington, had dinner and walked around, admiring the most beautiful, views,of the City from this lovely area. Take the incline from Station Square.a must thing to do when in Pgh.

“Walk along Grandview Avenue in Mt Washington, in the afternoon.”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

I recommend going up the Duquesne Incline, is located on the top of Mt Washington, there is the historical photo gallery Incline, the city and clear souvenir. Usually visitors return down the same place.
I recommend leaving this place and walk 300 meters to the right and find the monument to the meeting between George Washington and Seneca ¨ Guyasuta tribal chief (1770). From this point podrs see the whole city from the west, museums, casinos, stadiums and the prospect of the rivers that feed the Ohio River (Monongahela and Allegheny).
After fully appreciate the city begins your descent by Grandview Ave, little by little as they are up and down (a little over 1,500 meters) to reach the Mononhagela Incline. In the course'll appreciate restored Victorian homes that may have more than 100 years, with its characteristic red bricks. I recommend that you do around the 4:00 or 4:30 pm, so that, in your journey you can see how little by little the sky changes color and the view of the city changed.
Going down the Grandview Ave, surely haras stops in each of the 4 viewpoints of the city.
At the last you'll be facing the Shillon St., this is the shopping street and you can get ice cream, coffee, dine on any terrace or just walk around to see gift shops, wines, souvenirs (store in Virginia St., memories of Steelers and Pirates are cheaper).
At the end of this visit will be just over 6 or 7 pm and see how the city lights shine ... sure you'll be a few more minutes and then down the Monongahela Incline and there take your truck to downtown or walk to the tram stop "T".
Going up the incline order a full pass out a dollar more economical and has duration of three hours.

“Amazing views to share with your significant other”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

One of the most beautiful views you can find in this country at night. Take one of the inclines up for a little romance, or just drive. Parking is pretty easy to fine at the top. You can walk to the overlook which has concrete stones to sit on, right on the edge, and just look out. At night, it is really a scene to be had. You can see right into Heinz Field, down onto Point Park, and across the rivers. Best part is it costs nothing. Truly a romantic place to sit peacefully and take it all in.
