We were excited to try DragonFire. But we quickly realized that there are plenty of better options for Hibachi grills in the area and plenty of better meal options in the Galleria. For some reason restaurants in this specific location seem to have no luck (in and out every few years).
First the good stuff. The sushi was pretty fresh and they had a unique roll with salmon, avocado and mango. The scallops were big, well cooked and came with a lot in an order.
The bar service (both sitting at the bar and at the table) was uncomfortably slow and uncoordinated. Our bar drinks for a table of 6 came at different times or not at all.
There were mistakes on almost everything we ordered. The food came out at different times and apps were not before meals. The hibachi stuff came without any sauces. When we requested sauces they were just not as good as Benihana.
The servers seemed untrained. Most of us were willing to accept mistakes because it was newly opened. But it just seemed like they didn't do a "soft opening". We ordered tuna sushi and were asked to point it out in the menu...same when we ordered saki.
