I'm sure the beauty of the weather on the day we visited helped :-), but I could do nothing but smile at the well-kept grounds and the impressive fountain at Point State Park. This historic but also modern site is right where the three rivers meet and, standing on the point, you get an amazing 360 degree view of the city all around you. We were tourists but it was clear that locals come here often to walk, run, bike, reflect, and play with their dogs. If I lived there, I'd visit often!

The first thing one sees is the gigantic spray from the fountain. People sit along the side of the fountain and enjoy the day or the company of others. One can also walk the sidewalk that represents the outside walls of Ft. Pitt and visit the museum for the fort.

You can see the fountain lit up at night from the North Shore by PNC Park and Heinz Field, and we zipped through on a Segway tour on a Friday afternoon. Loaded with history, this strategic point has been showcased quite nicely.

This is Pittsburgh's beautiful downtown park. It is located where the Allegheny River and the Monongahela River join to become the Ohio River. It has a beautiful fountain right at the point. It also has a Fort Pitt historical museum.
