We went to Alma Pan-Latin on a special deal during Restaurant Week in Pittsburgh - a three course meal for $25. The food there is uniquely Latin American with offerings from Argentina, Cuba, Peru, Brazil, etc. The Canja Soup from Brazil was flavorful and tasty. The chicken dish was also good, but a bit tough - the explanation was that the chicken was free range and less fatty, thus the toughness. The molten cake with cinnamon icing hit the spot. The regular items were, I thought, a bit pricey, but after all this wasn't a taco and burrito joint. The restaurant is located on a busy corner in the Regent Square section of Pittsburgh with an outside seating area. It was a bit noisy due to all the hard surfaces, but very crowded with a lot of young couple types. The service was a bit slow. But I would highly recommend this place, especially if you're tired of the typical Pittsburgh meat, chicken and Italian places.
