The tour of this historic and beautifully restored home can be a wonderful addition to your visit to Pittsburgh. Tours are every hour and are guided by very knowledgeable docents that share their love of this place so well. Be sure to take in the carriage museum when you are there.

Like nearly everyone, we greatly enjoyed the docent-led tour of Clayton and seeing the Carriage and Car Museum. Both seem to be "must-see" for any visit to Pittsburgh. While lunch on the Frick grounds is no doubt wonderful, less well known is the stylish, friendly, neighborhood cafe but blocks away -- the Point Brugge Cafe. Wonderful mussels and frites, and a grand selection of beers.

Fantastic restaurant. Fantastic. Best waiter I had during a 6 day vacation (old friends reunion really) I had in Pittsburgh---Andrew. Just fantastic. Seafood special was fantastic. Homemade soups fantastic. Desert fantastic. Service fantastic. But please do not ask if we have reservations (the bus boy) when the restaurant is more than half empty at lunch--so snobby and not representative of the fabulous place.

We spent several hours at the Frick touring their home, Clayton House and viewing the art and carriages. It is truly well docurmented a a display of life in the time. We also had a fantastic lunch. The only building you pay for is Clayton House tour, but it is well worth it.

We grew up in the city and recently returned to visit. The Frick museum has opened since we lived there; we stopped by without any real expectations but were very pleasantly surprised! This is a very interesting, realistic, immaculately preserved home depicting he life of the wealthy in the Industrial Age. Also a tranquil place for a stroll and a very nice auto museum.
