Got to see and hear about another side of Henry Clay Frick, notorious industrialist who brought Pinkerton's to Pittsburgh to break up a strike.

I love this museum. I did intern here at one point, but I don't think I am biased when I say that it is a nice stop if you are interested in both art and local history. Clayton house is were Henry C. Frick and his family lived while he worked in Pittsburgh. It gives you a nice view of life in Pittsburgh during the time of the Steel tycoons. The art museum is also a nice place to visit, because it has different art exhibits that are constantly changing. Make sure to stop in for afternoon tea at the cafe. The chocolate mint tea is delicious.

This is a gorgeous property. The art exhibits are always fun and interesting and the house is to die for. Take the guided tour, it's worth it. The grounds are probably pretty in Spring and Summer; I've only seen them in the cold winter.

The Frick home is a well preserved look into the prominent Frick family life. The docents do a fantastic job of guiding you through the mansion, that looks just as it did when the Frick family lived there. During the Christmas holiday, the mansion displays Christmas decorations Additionally, the car museum on the grounds has an extensive display of wonderfully preserved antique cars. The art museum is a jewel of a museum with changing art exhibits. A small restaurant/cafe on the grounds serves exceptional lunches, desserts, and high tea. It's a good idea to make a reservation since it is very popular. Whenever we have out of town guests, we always think of the Frick as an interesting place to visit. In good weather we include a stroll around the grounds, followed by a stop to the cafe. All in all, it never fails to please and provide a memorable outting.
