We weren't sure what to expect when visiting Pittsburg for the first time to watch the Jays face the Bucs but were happily surprised by the Carnegie Museum of Art. Many fantastic pieces and such a diverse collection. We only wish we had more time to enjoy it all!

So cool that you for one price you get to visit a Natural History and Art Museum. Even better is that they are both world class. You could spend days here going through all the exhibits. What's the most fun is bouncing back and forth between the art and natural history. My favorite section is that about life in the Arctic. Also make sure to see the contemporary art collection that has been built up over years of biennials. They are on the cutting edge of contemporary art which is very cool for a town like Pittsburgh.

This museum has withstood the test of time.It is architecturally magnificient and has been noted for exemplary artwork.Even if your not an art lover, you will find some most interesting displays in the comfort and quiet of one of the foundations of Oakland.

I cannot even begin to verbalize how wrong some of the low ratings are on this. The Carnegie has several, wonderful pieces that are both relevant and monumental in the world of art! As an art and history major with an art history minor, I can vouch that it is certainly worth a visit if you are truly cultured!
