We attended a cocktail reception here after a trade show. Wish we had more time to view the collection...it is well worth a visit if you are in town.

So cool that you for one price you get to visit a Natural History and Art Museum. Even better is that they are both world class. You could spend days here going through all the exhibits. What's the most fun is bouncing back and forth between the art and natural history. My favorite section is that about life in the Arctic. Also make sure to see the contemporary art collection that has been built up over years of biennials. They are on the cutting edge of contemporary art which is very cool for a town like Pittsburgh.

Where else could you go and see a Tyronasaurus Rex and then 4 mins later be mesmerized by one of Monet's paintings?? Where else can you stare at a Mummy and then stare at large face of Buddha? Loved the experience and we'll worth the drive!!

Btw ... Loved the mineral collections!,

My son enjoyed this museum. While my other son was touring CMU, my younger son came here. CMNH has the most complete dinosaur fossils among other museums.

The dinosaur exhibits are really cool yet the visitor is surprised to learn how many different exhibits are on display ranging from gems and geology to historic cultures.
