“Great museum for kids AND grownup kids!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

My wife and I visited the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on a weekend trip to Pittsburgh. We're both overgrown kids in our own right (especially me) and we wandered through the museum in child-like wonder gawking at all the enormous exhibits of animals living and extinct. I've always had a fascination with dinosaurs, so I was in the right place! The dinosaur exhibits were fantastic with larger-than-life bone structures of all the popular dinosaurs (and some of the unpopular ones!). The upstairs exhibits included African and North American animals like lions, gazelles, bears, wolves, foxes and more. Be prepared to do some walking, especially if you're planning on hitting the next-door Museum of Art. There were also a number of kid-friendly exhibits, including a dig-up-your-own-dinosaur site!

“As exciting as I remember..... As a kid”
Reviewed December 9, 2013 via mobile

It's a very nice museum. Dinosaur exhibits are very nice, and the place never seems to end.... At least it feels that way. I will be back.... In another 20 years.

My pre-school grandchildren really enjoy the displays of dinosaurs and the fossil-digging area. Very nicely laid out museum and I look forward to spending more time there.

“One of the best”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

This is a big museum, with a wide variety of exhibits. In addition, the architecture of the museum itself is something to see. They couldn't build a museum like this today.
