“Enjoyed it enough to become members”

It seems every time I turn around, there is another exhibit worth seeing at the Heinz History Center, so we finally became members. Why not, there is always something worth seeing. This time it was a great exhibit of Burton Morris art as well as an interesting civil war exhibit, featuring Pennsylvania (not just Gettysburg). Before that was a Beatles exhibit and before that was a wonderful show about the 60's. Add on the entertaining Western PA sports museum and you'll always have a good 2+ hour museum experience.

“Give a good impression of the ups and downs of Pittsburgh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

If you are interested in history and visit Pittsburgh go here! It gives an excellent overview of the history of Pittsburgh with many engaging exhibits – good for kids. There are special exhibits of locally produced glassware and a fun display of Heinz products over the times.

“Plan a day for the Historic Center”

A tremendous value. I plan to go again the next time I am in town. The Western PA Sports Museum was worth the price of admission. Friendly, courteous staff.

“A little bit of everything for all ages”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

We thought we would kill an hour of our day and ended up spending 4 hours there taking everything in. An activity area is set up for younger children. Is a nice place for family to take grandma or grandpa along as there are interesting artifacts that all generations can observe and discuss together.

“Engaging for kids & grownups”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Our visit to Pittsburgh was an eye-opener. We loved the classic bridges to everywhere & scenery was dramatic from mountains to rivers. An hour or two at the Heinz History Center is a great way to understand how the city grew. Sports fans will have a blast in the dedicated sports museum. Hands-on activities for kids are mixed in with displays for adults throughout the museum and there is a dedicated play area for kids, too. As part of your admission, you can visit Fort Pitt, at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
