“Great museum - could be there for ages”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

All you ever wanted to know about Pittsburgh, with loads to see in a friendly atmosphere. Kids loved it, with lots of things to play on. And I never knew there was so much history about ketchup.

“Interesting Pittsburgh history”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Very interesting museum depicting all of Pittsburgh history. Most interesting floors are floors 2-4. They include the civil war; major contributors to Pittsburgh; glass industry;slavery and freedom; Heinz and the sports 2 floor exhibit.
Exhibits are not in any order therefore making it confusing which gallery room to enter. Numbering the exhibits would help.
This is a good place to visit on rainy day.

“A great museum”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Our children really enjoyed their visit to the museum, and there was sufficient to keep them occupied for an afternoon.

I would not recommend this as the reason to visit Pittsburgh, but it is a great stop on a tour of the city. The Cafe is OK, but I was expecting something linked to Heinz! Combine your entrance with Fort Pitt, and the savings make the visit worthwhile.

“Not A Pickle Museum (Completely)”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Though they have a section on the history of Heinz (did you know they pickled all kinds of things?), this museum is loaded with Americana, especially related to Pittsburgh. We spent a good four hours there and didn't get to see everything. Well worth the price of admission.

“Nice Smithsonian Mueseum”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

I came here a couple of times. The center is well organized and contains many amazing pieces telling the story of Pittsburgh. It has a special area for Heinz, since Pitt is the HQ of this huge corporation. There is also a nice sports section. Nice to spend a couple of hours especially if you are in the Down town area!!
