“Solid hotel”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Stayed there while visiting Pittsburgh for a Steelers game. Hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable. Shuttle service to and from airport was excellent. Breakfast was good offering a variety of foods. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is good directly off 376 10 miles from downtown and 7 miles from airport.
Hotel does need some updating. A in room fridge would be nice and ice machine on each floor (hotel is three floors ice machine on first.) Would return.

It's clean and quiet. They will pick you up at the airport promptly. The breakfast is good and it's hot. When you want to go out to eat, they will drive you in the van and there are numerous restaurants within 5 miles. Just call and they pick you up to go back to the hotel. Daily paper is available complimentary. This was our second time here and I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: They gave us one that was away from highway which was nice.

Service is not what you would call speedy but it is friendly and sufficient. The environment is low key and the area appears to be safe. The building and rooms are older and worn but they are clean. The breakfast that they offer is actually one of the best I have experienced for a "included" in the price of your stay situation. That part I really did enjoy.

Where to begin.....Stayed over Labor Day weekend. I wondered if our check in clerk was new. She waved her hand around and said to go park around back. When I asked for a map of the hotel layout she proceeded to tell me how to walk from the main lobby to our room. She wasn't the brightest person. She had no idea what I was talking about.

We were on the 3rd floor. At various times we took each of the stairwells. We had a guessing contest trying to identify each of the smells - one smelled like stinky seaweed and another like shorted electrical wiring. The rugs in the hallways needed stretched in places. There were humps in the carpet that I caught my foot on and almost tripped. The elevator floor needed vacuumed. It also smelled.

Our room was fairly clean but there was no bath mat. The push button on the lamp between the bed was loose so that you couldn't turn the lamp on. Once we finally got it on, we couldn't turn it off. I went down to the front desk to report the lamp and ask about a bath mat. The front desk clerk said she had no idea if the room had bath mats since she wasn't housekeeping. There was no one from maintenance there so she said she would send there van driver up to look. Meanwhile, my husband arrived and got the lamp working. The button is still loose and should be replaced before it shorts out.
The free breakfast was typically of hotels.
Beds were old and soft. While they were neatly made, the bed skirts were put on very crookedly so that one side was on the floor and the other side was tucked up under the bed. The chair in the room was so broken down you couldn't sit in it. TV was new but reception for some channels was poor.

What a lovely hotel. My husband was there on a business trip for 2 weeks, and I joined him for the second week. It was such a pleasant experience. Cindy - who served up a great morning breakfast everyday and weekly evening buffet - was so outgoing (always remembering names!), and welcoming. We really felt like valued "guests". Tina in housekeeping was always helpful and so nice. Even sending a maintenance man for a minor repair (that we really didn't even notice was needed). We were impressed by all the little extras, like the abundance of free morning newspapers, well-appointed health club (with very extensive hours), excellent pool (they had pillows and towels on each of the sun chairs! and a pool lift for handicapped). I understand that the hotel is going to be fully renovated in the next 6 months which is really staying "ahead of the curve" as it doesn't show obvious needs, but will keep it pristine. Thank you for a great week.

This hotel honestly needs to be shut down ... It's very unclean beyond belief ! Everything is so worn out and old it's horrible . It's also in a very odd location in the middle of a plaza . I'm actually very surprised that its called an airport hotel considering its so far from the airport itself. The courtesy car that takes you to and from the airport was dirty and old . rooms are very worn out and gross to the point that you can't even feel comfortable in them . I'm so dissapointed and will never stay here again or reccomend it to anyone ...

We arrived late in the evening. We had gone to the Blake Shelton concert at Niagra Pavilion and were planning on going to IKEA the next day.

Pros
• Love the layout of the room. The toilet and shower are separate from the sink and closet. But, they are not in a location where you can see people brushing their teeth and such from the regular part of the room. You could also go to the bathroom at night without flooding the sleeping area with light.
• Beds were comfortable
• The breakfast area (and lobby) are quite pretty and well taken care of. There needs to be a few tables in the lobby. The staff did well keeping up with the crowd.
• I had forgotten my toothpaste and razor. They gave me a sample size of toothpaste instead of the weird little packets I've gotten at other hotels.
• Very friendly, helpful staff
• Beds were great. Very nice sleep.

Cons
• Dated. I don't mind that it was dated because for the most part it was clean. I loved some some parts of it. The room was very clean. There were no problems with the room. The carpet in the elevator needed vacuumed and rugs in the hallway carpet need updated. I think replacing carpets would go a long way towards making it look better.
• The pool is outside. It is a beautiful pool, so I hesitate to call it a con. I'm a fan of inside pools so you can swim in them whenever. But, the layout and the windows to the pool from the dining area were really nice.

I would def. stay there again.

Room Tip: This is not a bad drive from Niagra Pavilion. The elevator isn't clearly marked. It is easy to w...
