Our family of 4 adults and 1child were treated to delicious and generous tastings at our food tour in Pittsburgh. It was a great introduction to one of the surrounding neighborhoods in Pittsburgh where we not only savored food from pasta to gelato, but met the local merchants who shared with us their stories of growing up in this special city. Our guide, Sylvia, also the founder of Burgh Bits and Bites was a very gracious and friendly host on this tour. Had we the opportunity, we would have loved to take another one of her wonderful tours. We did the Bloomfield Italian Tour. Loved it! Thanks Sylvia.

Richard was a great guide and made this a really worth while experience. I learned a ton of history about Pittsburgh and it's development and settlement, tasted great food and learned from some of the store owners how they make the foods we samples. This is a tour that someone who has lived here a long time or who is just visiting can benefit from. With the strip spanning such a wide territory this is a great way to get pointed in the right direction for which stores are must sees and so you know where to return (some places offer discounts when a tour member makes a purchase).

My friends and I enjoyed a very informative and historical tour (approx 10 people) of the Strip recently. Our guide, Jen, was well informed, very up and obviously enjoyed her job. As we made our way around town it became evident that shop owners were a proud group and worked well to support commerce in the city. Everywhere we stopped we received a little bit of history and most places were very willing to have you taste their fare. Although we are from Pittsburgh, it was fun to enjoy this almost 2 hour walking tour. This tour is a must and we hope to try the Bloomfield Tour next. Well worth the time, even in the drizzle.

We had a very rainy Friday afternoon for our tour, but we had a good time and met some really nice people. The history on the businesses was very interesting and their food items were very good. Was disappointed on the amount of food there was to taste even though the info told us to come with our appetites. We did have a sandwich(thankfully) on our own before the tour began. It was still a good overall experience.

Though we really had no idea what to expect, we all loved our food tour in Bloomfield last weekend. My brother and I, with our spouses, gave the tour to our parents as a belated Mother's/Father's Day gift, and everyone had a great time. It was so much fun to explore an area of the city that we barely knew, and to learn about its rich history and culture. Gabe was a great tour guide-- he was knowledgeable and friendly and really seemed to love what he does-- and the store and restaurant owners we met seemed so happy to talk to us too. The food was delicious, and we could not believe how much we were given! Without a doubt, the highlight was going to the apartment above Merante's and meeting Maria-- and now we all want to take cooking classes from her.

The food tour was such a fun and different way to explore part of the city. We would definitely recommend it to native Pittsburghers and visitors, and we're looking forward to going on another tour someday!
