We are from the suburbs and frequently stay downtown for weddings, sporting events, etc. I don't usually review local hotels after just one night but we were impressed. Of all the hotels downtown, this is now my favorite pick. Fairmont has set a new standard for Pittsburgh. The hotels is new, modern, and clean. We stayed in a King deluxe room, which had a spacious bathroom, and luxuriously comfortable bed. We payed additional for a ball park view but I don't think that was worth the extra money. The health club was top-notch. A lot of hotels will say that their fitness centers are "state of the art" but this one really is. They have a great variety of cardio and weight machines. The locker rooms are excellently appointed with private showers, steam room, sauna, and vanity. We enjoyed breakfast at Habitat. The buffet isn't large but the food is fresh and so delicious. You can also order a menu item with the buffet (try the corned beef hash). I will definitely visit this restaurant again for dinner as there are other menu items I'm eager to try. I would highly reccomend this hotel to friends coming into town. I would also not think twice to stay at another Fairmont Hotel.

Although the price is high for Pittsburgh, this hotel is the nicest in Pittsburgh. The hotel is located near Market Square, which has several restaurants and shops. The lobby is large and modern and the check-in and check-out are quick. Room 2102 has a great view of the PNC Park and is very close to the elevator. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is large. The bar in the lobby serves decent wines and has a TV for local sports. The fitness center has all of the amenities, including TVs on the fitness equipment, free weight, fruit for the after-workout, and coffee, tea and water. Internet access is free for Fairmont Club members. I will be sure to stay at the Fairmont the next time I am in Pittsburgh.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of PNC park.

We splurged on a girls' get away for a friends' 40th birthday surprise. What a treat. The service is impeccable, rooms are spacious and well appointed, the health club is beautiful and the spa services just terrific. The Fairmont's service phone line is called "Royal Service" , it lives up to it's name. We all live in the Pittsburgh area and felt like we had gotten far away.

We travel to Pittsburgh often, usually for football games. This was our first stay at the Fairmont in Pittsburgh. The location is great for football and baseball games and is also within walking distance to many restaurants. Self parking is easy and attached to the hotel. The bell service was great at check in. The room was clean and well appointed. We have stayed at other Fairmont hotels and feel that this location is on par with other Fairmont hotels. This is my choice of hotel for future stays in Pittsburgh.

We were in town to see the Penguins play twice this week between Christmas and New Year's, and had a gift certificate for two nights at the Fairmont, which we stretched to three. I am glad I did. Right from pulling up in the pouring rain to the check in process to the clean and comfy room to the overall service, it was all great. My only complaints and reason for not giving it 5 stars was the lack of somewhere to easily get a quick cup of coffee in the morning. The in room machine made so-so coffee and other than going a block or soto Starbucks, the only other option is getting the hostess in the restaurant to get you a cup, bring out the condiments, run a receipt, charge the room, etc, etc. They should just provide a coffee station in the lobby in the morning. But that was minor. The restaurant, Habitat, is wonderful. And the health club is top of the line. The best compliment I can give is that we found out the Philadelphia Flyers were staying he for Thursday's game, checking in late night/early morning Tues/Wed. That meant all of the accompanying HBO crew who is following the team for 24/7 as well as some crazy fans standing across the street trying to et autographs. Yet, when we walked up to the front door, jeans and sneakers, looking shabby from walking around town all day, we were still treated the same as the Flyers probably were. Great service here.

I usually stay at another downtown hotel, and I am happy there as a routine visitor to Pgh, however, this time I stayed at a 1BR suite in the Fairmont. Really really nice...everything went great, including room service, and the most memorable part was a little basket of muffins that they sent along with Sunday breakfast. I would recommend to anyone wanting and/or needing to stay in downtown Pgh. The staff does not know me or recognize me (yet) however, that will change.
