“Good times”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Really rockin' on the weekends! Loads of fun. Good food. Entertainment gets the patrons up and singing and dancing on the tables! In Pittsburgh? Great place to spend a Friday or Saturday night.

“Great Party Place”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Recently hosted a party here and everyone had a wonderful time. The food and service were all perfect, prices very reasonable and the beer superb. It is loud, with Music and Laughter in the Beer Hall, so don't sit there if you want a quiet evening. There is a side Dining Hall, and an outdoor Beer Garden (patio, overlooking the Mon River), if you want to be left more or less alone.

With the newly opened Riverfront Park just below, and Southside Works Towne Square out front (Summer Concerts by the Fountain are free), you could easily spend an entire evening here. There's even a Multi-screen Movie Theatre right across the street. Be sure to come early (5-5:30pm) if it's Friday or Saturday night-- otherwise you'll be standing in line!

“If you like beer, this is the place you need to be”
Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

Went here for the first time following a football game. It was pretty crowded as you would expect but we went to the beer garden. The beer was quite tasty and the pretzels were outta this world. Would definitely go again next time I'm in town.

“Good Beer, Average Food”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Being German myself, I have been to the Hofbrauhaus a few times now. The beer and the atmosphere is very good, but the food is not very authentic. The wurst is made to American standards, replacing veil with other beef and pork substitutes. The place is great for a party, but if you want German food, this isn't the place to look.

“College Town Hangout”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

NOISY and filled with College Age kids.
Food is Average bar food and the German beers are the reason to go.
That and the entertainment of an authentic German band - if you can stand the college 'girls' pushing and shoving to dance table top.
