“Trendy.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

There was a lot of hype when it opened. We went one of the first nights. Service was poor. Salad was terrible. The pizza was decent. I found it to be pricey for what it is.

“Good European style pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

This is not your average American pizza shop. They serve European style pizza, thin crust, light on sauce, not piled with huge amounts of toppings, but the ingredients are all high quality. Great cheeses, herbs and toppings in interesting combinations.

The decor is casual but light, clean and inviting. They serve a few starters and salads. Portions are not large but the quality is good. Modest prices, not cheap, but not too expensive considering the quality. The wine list is not extensive, but the selections are nice and the prices not bad. European style bottled water, and European style gratuity included in bill.

“Good pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2012

The parking was a little weird but at least it's off street. If you can't find Dinette walk along the sidewalk and look up from Plum. Good pizza. Atmosphere was 'ok' but what do you expect at a dinette?

“Good service, Good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2012

We were in Pittsburgh for the weekend and decided to try Dinette based on mostly good reviews on Tripadvisor. From the dual flush toilets to the choice of flat or sparkling water it is certainly European inspired. This may account for the limited menu and the lack of willingness to make subsitutions (see Terrible review). That being said we had a very pleasant meal, good salads (tried both) and pizza was well executed wood fired pizza. Service was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dinette to others or to go there again.

“High level of Excellence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2012

Both the food and the wine list are constantly changing according to what is best on any give day. The chef/owner spends time and effort to make sure that the product coming from her kitchen is not only inventive but of the highest quality. While the premise (personal pizza's, narrow choice of appietizers, desserts, wine choices) may not appeal to everyone, the quality and presentation is far above most any other establishment in the city.

I go regularly and never come away disappointed - except when my timing is off and I have to wait for a table in the small space. It makes real sense to go early or later in the evening to avoid the wait.

On the menu last night was the most wonderful pizza of shaved brussel sprouts, butternut squash, bacon and fresh mozzarella which makes most other "pizza" pale by comparison! Coupled with a Ceaser salad, a glass of Adelsheim Pinot Gris and rice pudding with a fig and red wine reduction compote - a perfect finish to the day.

I wouldn't change a thing except that they might offer cappuccino in addition to the espresso! I certainly hope that this wonderful restaurant stays around for a very long time. It is truly special.
