Ok, I understand, this is a low price place. So I am pretty much ok with shabby, pieces of plaster missing, old worn stuff. But I was not prepared for the used dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door.....or the shocking blue fake fingernail mixed up in the bed linens......or the absolutely filthy blanket on the bed with large dark marks on it. In addition, the women I encountered at the front desk were completely unhelpful and uninformed. Did not wish to even try the free breakfast, so I can not address that.

We had to go the Veterans Admin for my daughter and this hotel was one of the suggested locations for family to stay during orientation. Well, I must say the outside of the hotel did not leave me with a good feeling...but the extra stuff you get wasn't bad...at least above average. One thing, no pool, so if you want to swim, you can pay $45 and get time spent in a local athletic club...can't remember the daily fee?? The room was pretty good, a little small, but OK size. We got a king bed, room 201, and it had a small refrig. and microwave and coffee maker and hair dryer. It had free internet and a good sized TV with several channels. The ladies at the front desk were very nice. The free breakfast was minimal but filling...just cereal, bagals (with bad cream cheese), toast, coffee, juice, oatmeal, etc.... They had a computer in the breakfast room that had a printer attached, so that was nice when we had to print up directions home. The best part, King's Restaurant next door with excellent food and even better service. It was a 1950's setting and the 20% discount given because you stayed at the hotel helped a lot since we had to stay there 3 days. You also got the discount at Ponderosa and Denny's., McDonalds within walking distance, Burger King withing walking distance, Target right down the road. Very close to the PA Tunpike entrance and about 11 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. I'd give it a B. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance...Oh you get the local paper plus another paper for free...my husband loved that.

Room Tip: I like the upstairs rooms, just two floors, but they had a little balcony (shared with all the other...

The title says it all. Our first room was infested with bugs (over 100 Asian lady bugs and 3 stinkbugs) and when we asked to move, the night clerk initially said there were no other rooms but managed to find some after I indicated we would check out. Her attitude was very unfriendly and acted like she was put out by my request to see other rooms before we just blindly moved. The room also needed some major ceiling repairs and a bathroom renovation. The day staff acknowledged that our first room was known for having a problem with bugs but acted like that was fine. My favorite comment: "If it were only the lady bugs, you'd be okay". Asian lady bugs bite by the way. The next room we looked at hadn't been completely cleaned after the previous tenant. The third room was better but still had a chair that I wouldn't sit in due to several nasty stains. The room keys kept quitting requiring several trips to the front desk. And the breakfast buffet was overcooked and short on selection. Good thing there are several breakfast restaurants nearby. There was also an incident with a staff member standing in the parking lot having an argument with her boyfriend. If it wasn't for the location and the fact that other family members were staying here, we would have left.

Room Tip: Try the Holiday Inn Express just down the road. Even the Super 8 next door got a better review from...

The staff there is wonderful, we stayed there a few times and have gotten to know them well, that's how friendly they are. Love that they allow pets and they fell in love with our puppy!! Not far from the city/hospital which is nice, since we were there for 10days due to having surgery at UPMC. Also you get 20% off at "Kings Restaurant" next door, can just walk across the parking lot. Only thing I'd like is the handicapped accessable rooms the tub is very high getting into and the toilet sits very low..do believe they are upgrading some of the rooms so they might change this..only other thing is (this is in every hotel/motel I've ever stayed I think, they cleaning people need to look around the edges of the room & vacuum better & clean vents, ceiling corners, ect, not every time but every few weeks at least..a good cleaning like that in areas that don't normally get done should be done every 4-6wks in every hotel/motel).

Room Tip: Kind size room much better and first floor rooms are convienent for everything.
