We stayed at this Hampton Inn recently. It is well located, close to some of Pittburgh's major attractions. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Friendly and helpful staff.
We had a glitch though. As we are attending a family wedding, the reservations were done at a specially negotiated rate and confirmed through email. However , on check-in, we were told that the reservations were cancelled the previous day by the management. On showing the email record, they agreed to give us the room ( we had booked 2 rooms for the family). I did not think much of it until the time of check-out. I found that they had charged me the rack rate rather than the original negotiated group rate. After some discussion they restored the originally committed rate.
Had i not checked the invoice that morning, i would have lost a substantial amount of money.
I was left wondering whether it was a genuine slip or were they actually trying to shortchange by cancelling my reservation at low rates and letting me in at higher rates.
Other than this issue, the stay was comfortable. Rooms were clean and functional. Breakfast was adequate.More
