I stayed at the Priory while visiting Pittsburgh for a friend's wedding. The reception was held at the Priory, and the setting was exquisite. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are elegant yet comfortable, and the city is not far from your door. When you want to break the mold of the chains, this is the place. I've been recommending it to friends since my visit.

The hotel was very beautiful. The hotel staff was very accomodating and ready to help us whenever we needed. I only wish the weather had been nice enough to use the beautiful courtyard that we could see from our windows. I would love to stay again!

My husband and I were planning an overnight business/leisure trip to Pittsburgh and looking for a B&B. We were striking out with the B&B accommodations (too expensive, no availability, etc) when I found The Priory online. We always prefer to stay in B&B's, but the Priory looked quite beautiful and intriguing so we took a chance. We were completely delighted from check-in to check-out. The room was beautiful, the staff warm and friendly, the hotel itself is absolutely lovely - antiques and charm abound. Upon arrival we were able to relax over a complimentary glass of wine in the sitting room, and the next morning enjoyed a very nice Continental + breakfast. We have already recommended The Priory to several friends and hope to stay there again soon.

It is a one of the cheapest hotels in Pittsburgh. Close to PNC park, museums and Heinz Field. It is very beautiful inside. The location is okay, could be better. I would stay there again.

If you're passing through Pittsburgh and want to stay somewhere unique, a little off the beaten path, but in easy walking or driving distance to other parts of town, The Priory is a great option. It's a lovely and historic building on a quiet street on Pittsburgh's North Side, near the stadiums and downtown. The rooms (or at least ours) are a bit small by modern hotel standards, but it was clean, beautiful, and furnished with pieces that really fit the overall look and feel of the elegant building. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating -- gave it a "staying with friends" kind of feeling. Check out the courtyard area -- beautiful at night, great for sitting outside and chatting.

We live 30 miles from Pittsburgh but like to go there for cultural and athletic events, and shopping. We chose The Priory because it was handy to both Heinz Hall where we were walking for the Pittburgh Symphony Orchestra concert on Friday night, and it was handy to PNC Park where we were walking for the Pittsburgh Pirates game (Pirates won 10-0) on Saturday afternoon. Also, how often do you get to spend a night in a former monastery (1880-1980)? The building is, of course, quaint with lots of architectural features and antiques to give the feel of the original residents of the area. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our room was not luxurious, but very comfortable and quite lovely. The armoire and dresser in the room were wonderful touches. The 12-foot-high rooms feature windows that go all the way up to the ceiling which is very interesting. The breakfast (this is a B&B) was a nice buffet. It is also walking district to shopping in downtown Pittsburgh and for food in the Strip District. They even let us leave our car in their parking lot after we checked out since we were walking to the ballpark. The price was very reasonable. The Priory is a very calming and relaxing place in the midst of a busy city (Did the years that monks lived there leave a peaceful ambiance? Who knows?)
