“City Inn in the heart of Pittsburgh”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

This gem of a city inn is the place to stay. Conveniently located just a few blocks from PNC Park and across the river from downtown Pittsburgh, this inn provides a respite from the noise and congestion of the city. The walled patio with lovely plants and fountain is a peaceful place to relax. The breakfast that comes with the room is freshly made and plentiful. The staff was helpful and friendly. A shuttle service is provided if you do not want to walk to local attractions. Should we return to Pittsburgh we will definitely stay at The Priory.

Located close to plenty of attraction and located in a safe neighborhood The Priory Hotel provides an oasis in the urban jungle. The parking lot was small and undecured (they had a second secure lot we did not learn about until after we checked in) byt none-the-less safe. The bathrooms were small, but one did not feel too cramped. The hotel offered a standard complimentary continental breakfast and had a nice bar. I would certainly recomend staying here if one is tired of big chain hotels.

We took advantage of The Priory's Pirates Baseball Package on a recent visit to Pittsburgh. The B&B inn is conveniently located within a few blocks of PNC Park. It's easy and safe to park in the private lot across the street. This was our second visit to The Priory, and we were delighted with the renovations that had been made since the past summer. The rooms are small, quiet and comfortably furnished and decorated in a Victorian Style. Everything is clean a well maintained.
The expanded continental breakfast includes fresh fruit, gourmet meats and cheeses, breads and pastries, yogurt, cereal and more. It was a winning weekend for both the Pirates and The Priory.

At first look the area doesn’t look that safe but once you get there you realize it is great! Don’t let other reviews scare you, we walked around at night and had no problems and felt safe. The hotel is cute with quaint rooms. Although it is a bit away from the downtown area they provided a free shuttle. The location is great for catching a Pirates game at PNC Park as it is just a short walk. We didn’t find many restaurants nearby but there was a grocery store a block away. The parking is a bit tight but you shouldn’t have a problem find a spot and it is free! The free breakfast in the morning was awesome with a variety of meats, cheese, bakery items and hot food. There is a huge selection and it tasted wonderful. The hotel is definitely worth it.

My husband and I spent the night at the Priory while traveling from Virginia to Michigan. The Priory, a 42 room historic boutique hotel is a former Benedictine monastery built in 1888. It is located in the historic Deutschtown section of Pittsburgh. There are two complimentary parking lots, a beautiful courtyard, fitness center, and business center. Internet is complimentary. We stopped in the Monk’s Bar to enjoy a nightcap, where I had a Monktini which was great. Our room was comfortable, linens were upscale, but the bathroom was extremely small with a very small shower. The staff is very nice, especially Henry who not only helps with luggage, but drives the complimentary shuttle to wherever you want to go. Prior to departing we were treated to a nice, complimentary European style breakfast.

After reading some of the reviews I don't know where Jim B was staying. We stayed in the old section which was remolded the bathroom are smaller but I planned on being out side more than in the bathroom. This hotel was in the city but when you go thru the doors you go back into time where the staff service is top notch. The room are clean and are true to the period . The court yard is a great place to have coffee or read a book it is an oasis in a sea of concrete. My wife and I walked the neighborhoods and found many local establishments to eat. Everyone we met were polite and eager to help with directions. The shuttle service was excellent and we were able to go every where we needed to go with out driving or needing a cab. The shuttle service started at 07:00 Hrs we needed to be at the train station before 7 and the concierge made arrangements to take the shuttle instead of a cab.
