Loud trucks up and down the alley all night. Large bugs in the room "stink bugs" limited access to room. Large vent protruded from wall into stairwell making it difficult to maneuver. No elevator, no ramps =difficult to bring our son's stroller and bed to our room. Had to use Poorly lit back parking lot that opened up to dark streets since the doors leading back to the lobby stated " do not enter" had to walk around the building.

The staff were very nice but everything was very old. Breakfast was very limited. It was a place to sleep when all other hotels were booked but i would not stay here again.

This is the dirtiest, most out-dated hotel I have ever stayed in! The bed linens were dingy yellow. The towels were grey-ish and the bathroom was just GROSS! It smelled musty and moldy. It is definitely NOT worth the money. I just felt uncomfortable being in the room altogether. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. The only good thing I can say about the place is that the girl at the front desk was really nice. That is definitely no reason to stay at such a disgusting place!!!!

We travelled to Pittsburgh September 15 - 19, 2012 and stayed at the Days Inn on Banksville. While I was a little skeptical after reading the previous reviews, it was rather close to downtown, and cheap. The intital impression of arriving is that yes, the hotel is a little run down. Previous reviewers had issues with the front desk staff - not us. Stacey was working for the majority of our stay and was helpful in telling us what to check out and where to eat. She even phoned the cab company and yelled at them on our behalf when we waited an hour for a cab.
The rooms weren't Hilton material - but they were clean. I've stayed in a lot worse for a lot more a night. They had a mini-fridge and microwave, which is always helpful when travelling for an extended period of time. They also had shuttle buses downtown for the Steelers game, which in a city like Pittsburgh where the taxis take forever, it's not a bad investment. The worst thing about the stay was probably the showers - constant ice cold - scalding hot - ice cold - scalding hot. However, like I said before, that is our only complaint. My suggestion is that if you are used to Hilton's, high end Marriotts, and that type of hotels, don't stay here. If you're looking for a cheap place for a couple nights (or like us to attend a Steelers game), this place is fine.
