Soups here are comfort food good and the fish is fresh-caught and worth a try, as are the grilled scallops.

I have to comment on the previous "Lacking Tastebuds" "Social Security" review, and this coming from someone who is younger and far from SS -

Shame on you.

This is why giving the public latitude to provide opinion backfires. You assume that every older individual, especially those who live off of SS have bland opinions and tastes.
Totally incorrect.

Back to O'Grady's -

It's basic but in a good way. Look at the review that is framed on the wall -
The one from The Phila Inquirer's Mystery Muncher.
You'll find a favorable opinion - one that tells the facts and not mean-spirited tripe.

Granted that most people that go there are in their 60s and up, but the food really isn't that bad and the portions are great. Most of the meals come with the soup&salad bar which has been fresh every time I've been there. You can choose your portion of your meal they ask if you want the regular or large(there's only $1 or $2 difference). The staff is friendly and meals per person cost $6-12 depending on what you get. Oh and they have a great breakfast buffet on weekends that costs only $7. Only been there a few times but I would go back.

Fine if you're receiving social security and turned in your taste buds. Bland, old people food.
