We stopped in on a Wednesday in late April. Apparently they're only open on the weekends at the moment. Disappointed.

Don't miss the authentic Woolworth's Store display & holiday houses & villages. Loved the opening story of Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus!

It was all great ! ANy one of any age who cares at all for Christmas will like it. But if you are a baby boomer or older -- you must go just to relive the experience of shopping at an old timey five and dime like a Wollworth's when they had wooden floors nad couters. I wanted to take home everything in the place. THe train room is an endless delight. Another highlight was the collection of creche sets from around the world.

Firstly, the National Christmas Center is a whole lot bigger than it looks. What you expect to be through in an hour takes at least two, so knowing this, the admission seems a little more worthwhile.
The whole tour is filled with decorations and toys from all different eras, and though the animated critters and some of the displays feel a bit kitschy and silly, it's still fun to feel like a kid again.
The end of the tour takes a very religious turn, which I suppose is to be expected, but it just seemed a little odd--to go so suddenly from toy trains and talking critters to people talking in Aramaic.
