Wasn't sure what to expect. We had a good size group of people coming from all over the country to experience some white water rafting... and it seemed like this the only option to stay. It was the PERFECT option. It was perfectly located, walking distance from everything we did an it was clean and comfortable. Our group was able to hang out in the lot and make it one big party. A big shout out to RUBY (staff at the motel), She was so helpful with any questions / requests, super nice and did a great job! Definitely made the stay so much better!!!

Room Tip: Corner suites have a nice balcony with round tables, nice to wake up to or end your night with a nig...

We utilize the rails to trails a lot and always stay in Ohiopyle at the Yough Plaza along the way. They provide soap and towels but no hair conditioner, no coffee or refrigerator but despite the basic nature of the rooms they are always very clean with spotless bed linen and a multitude of towels. They also have coin operated washers and driers. The staff are lovely and the check in office remains open until 10pm with an emergency number posted for late comers. There's a great bar " River Falls Bar" across the railway tracks with great food (lots of veggie options) and wonderful breakfasts can be had at "Falls Market" on main street.

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms have an overhead awning that if it rains you can still sit outside, upstairs room d...

I stayed here two night recently, in two different rooms (once was on my own; next night was with a group). The rooms were very roomy and clean and the air conditioning certainly did its job. Although these were weekend nights, it was quiet (although I could just have been too exhausted to notice).

The only negative is that, when I was in a lower-level room, I could really hear noise from the people above walking around. But again, I had two very good nights' sleep here.

Bare bones room, but comfortable. Some guests were a bit noisy, and arrived late. No coffee or refrigerator in the room. If it wasn't for the local cafe, we would not have stayed here. Check-in time is 4pm--no exceptions. Staff was friendly and stored our bike bags so we could hike.

While I was on a business trip to Pittsburgh I took a couple days off and rode my folding bicycle down the Great Allegheny Passage "rails to trails" to Ohiopyle and back. I spent the night at the Yough Plaza. This is both the best and worst motel in Ohiopyle since it is the only one.

The room was clean but minimalist. There are plastic glasses and the remote control for the TV was held together by duct tape. The bathroom light did not work. The "in the wall" AC unit was very loud. The walls are very thin and the head of the bed is about two feet from the television in the next room. I couldn't go to sleep until the people in the next room decided to call it a night.

I thought the room rate was a little high since it appeared that only about five of the 14 rooms were rented when I was there. However, if you want to stay in Ohiopyle, this is about your only choice. It is also convenient to the various rafting outfitters.

The area is all about WW, biking, hiking and for the not so nature oriented guests, the Frank Lloyd Wright houses nearby are spectacular - well worth anyone’s time. We last stayed at the Yough Plaza July 19 and 20, 2011 and found it clean with like-new mattresses. We have returned annually since 2006 as our teenagers and their friends learned to kayak, it is perfectly suited to the area’s activities. These kids beg to go back and are happy with 2-3 day stays-we bring their bikes. The teenagers love the freedom to walk down the street to swim and wade in the whitewater of the Youghigheny River and bike rental is just down the street. It’s not the Ritz, nor would we ever want it to be. (bring your own coffee and don’t expect room service) The Yough Plaza has that very relaxed cabin feel and is all about location!!! If you are seeking a base for your Ohiopyle nature get-a-way this is the only place to be if you are not camping. There are a couple of suites with kitchens. We consider The Yough “our cabin” and thankfully we do not have to pay taxes on it or find time to do maintenance, we just call for a reservation and pack our gear! Don't forget a couple of lawn chairs and a good book to read to enjoy the roar of the water at the park.

The Yough Plaza is right off the Great Allegheny Passage and so very convenient for cyclists. The rooms are typical 50s motel style but clean and serviceable. There is an outside hose so that you can wash your bike and they also offer shuttle service to Fallingwater, which is worth the trip. There is a lot to do in Ohiopyle -- it is gorgeous country -- and I am sorry that I didn't stay an extra day. The office doesn't open until 2:00 p.m., but the cleaners let us in so that we could change out of our tourist clothes into our biking clothes. Very nice and accommodating. I would stay there again. You do have to pay in advance, but that was ok.
