“Good Asian Restaurant”
Reviewed March 14, 2011

Good overall Pan Asian restaurant with great spread of Sushi, Japanese, Hibachi, Chinese, etc. It’s definitely better than Chinese buffet restaurants, but don't expect quality Sushi. Being a buffet, the focus here is quantity.

For great Sushi, I would recommend Blue fin near Plymoth Meeting. For good sushi with and great ambience, dining experience, I would go to Ooka, Montgomeryville. Kumo, Motgomeryville is good too.

“A real gem”
Reviewed August 21, 2010

Was tipped off to this place by a neighbor so gave it a try for lunch.
It was wonderful! Extensive selection of sushi, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. Even though it was buffet, the food was fresh and quite tasty.
Unlike Jim's Buffet, this place doesn't try to appeal to western tastes by offering traditional Western dishes (fried chicken, pizza, etc) so Noboru might not be suitable for kids unless they have a taste for Asian cuisine.
The decor is contemporary and the building is new. Seems they have a selection of beer, wine, and sake; not sure if other alcohol beverages are available. It is a bit pricey ($18 pp for lunch) but well worth it if you want to experience a relatively upscale all you can eat Asian food buffet. Service was excellent even though it is buffet style.

“Good food and lots of variety”
Reviewed July 6, 2010

We chose Noboru because they were running a $20.00 special for the sushi buffet, and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety available. In addition to the sushi, which had a good assortment of fish sashimi / sushi. There was a little eel, roe, and urchin available as well. All tasted fresh and of high quality, on par with what I would have expected from a good buffet.
Going beyond the sushi, there was udon (careful with the spices, I made mine too hot), several soups, and a custom hot pot where you pick out everything you want in it and your server comes around to set up the pot for you. It looked good but we were already getting full. There's also a hot buffet, more along the lines of standard chinese buffet, but had some more interesting dishes like pad thai and korean short ribs. There was also several prepared salads and a pasta bar, which looked good be we weren't able to try.
The desserts are great, they have the tart frozen yogurt that's hard to find around here, and a small crepe station too. The microscopic cookies, which are about the size of a penny, were delicious.
Service was a little slow, but I think it was because we went over a holiday weekend. The server looked abnormally stressed.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere for a buffet. The modern decor, spacious buffet area, and high ceilings have a calming affect on the self-serve experience that for me normally feels chaotic.
