We haven't been to Charlottes for many years, but decided to give it a try recently. First, let me say that if you are looking for a lively crowd this isn't the place for you! The décor is dated and the crowd is all over 60, but the food was very good. It's one of those places where you get soup or salad and some sides with your meal instead of paying $7 for a baked potato like in some of the newer restaurants! The cosmos were yummy and we all enjoyed our food. We will return!

My husband, daughter and I just had a wonderful, spur of the moment trip to Charlottes on a snowy evening. From greetings at the door to a visit from the chef to a lovely and professional waitress and wait staff, our dinner out couldn't have been nicer. We were early enough for the Early Bird Special which included not only soup and salad with our entre but dessert as well. Most important was the fabulous food cooked to perfection. Not everyone likes fresh liver but a local farmer brings it in to Charlottes and it is cooked to perfection. Smothered in onions and mushrooms, it truly melts in your mouth. Hard to believe but true and if you are a local, Charlottes will call you when the liver is delivered fresh. Imagine getting put on a Liver List! Worth every "older person" thought of such a thing! Charlottes decor is full of stained glass and flowers and the booths and seats are comfy and a great time out for family or a date.

My (senior) Dad & I come here often for the early dining menu. We're happy to eat a little early because it would be too much food to have late at night. There are not many places to enjoy the full dining experience of soup, salad, bread, coffee/ tea, choice of entree w/ sides and dessert offered as a package for a reasonable price. The slightly smaller portions make it possible to enjoy all the courses, though we have had to take leftovers occasionally. The service is always pleasant, though sometimes a little too much personal info is shared. We have over time heard all about 1 server's college major & another's birthday party for a 2 yr old but some seniors may enjoy feeling 'part of the family'. The food is generally excellent and we are always able to switch the soup for a small fee if the soup of the day is not to our liking. If you are in the area for an early dinner I would suggest you give Charlotte's a try.

We were curious to try Charlotte's having read some good reviews- boy were we blown away- some of the best seafood in the Philadelphia area and the most friendly service we have had in a long time. The whole branzino was amazing!

MY last review was posted on 12/18/2012. This time we tried the crab legs. Wlhle messy to eat, one need to expect this. They were well prepared and sweet. The meal was accompanied by a salad and by a small bowl of mussels. The hook is that one can have as many orders of the crab as one wishes. This makes the experience one to be worthwhile. We plan to go back to try the Dungeness crabs. Again, it would be worthwhile to try. As for the decor, it is old fashioned but actually pleasant for a change
