Typical diner food with earlybird specials. Wait staff very efficient but can be moody;.......but at least the "mean girl" (original) hostess is not there any more....she was brutal. She would sigh and throw the menus on the table. Never smile! ( how did she get to be hostess?) !Back to food......breakfasts have gotten better....used to ask for bacon well done and it was limp and undercooked; now it is well done. Decent meals.....not a lot of flavor.....but ok. Will definitely go back since it is convenient.

Every Sunday morning, after church, we stop by the diner for breakfast. We've been there so many times, the servers automatically know what to bring! They greet us with a smile, an occasional joke but, more importantly, with courtesy and speed. Coffee, tea, water for the table in seconds! Hot, piping breakfast ordinarily within 5 minutes. We've been dining there almost every week for a couple of years, now, and expect we will continue to do so.

For a local, quick stop in Newtown Square and surrounding areas, the Hot Spot is a good place to go. It's fairly small (about 30 tables) and at lunch time is REALLY crowded, but the service is really fast. Example: as customers get up from their table, the guy with the cart is there to clear, followed immediately by the girl placing the settings. During meals the coffee appears frequently without your begging for it.
The food is good diner fare. It's about what you would expect, but is very well prepared and at normal diner speed. The prices are in the normal diner range. (They have a seniors' club, but you have to join and be a regular to make it work for you.)
So, for diner service, food, and prices, the total effect is a pleasent quick stop. It's also fairly easy to get to, on West Chester Pike with a light right in front that makes turning in and out easy.
A word of warning: the outer vestible isn't heated, so try to avoid the front table and booths. Every time someone goes in or out you will get a blast of outside air. And in winter it gets fairly cold. We ate in our parkas!

Passed this diner on our way home from a wake. We were hungry, so we decided to give it a try. My mom got her usual eggs, toast and homefries. I ordered moussaka, and my husband got the broiled tilapia. Both my mom and my husband loved their meals, but the moussaka was only so-so. I've had much better elsewhere.

Overall, it was decent food and we'd probably eat there again, although I wouldn't order the moussaka. Prices were fair. The three of us ate for $45 including tip.
