“Ewwwwwh what a horrible breakfast”

Sorry Newtown, but this place absolutely stinks. Talk about over hired staff members, a mean waitress that seemed to be so uninviting (not to mention a horrible haircut!) The manger I guess is so not welcoming to new coming customers, very cold to incoming customers like me. Seems like only the regulars have it well off here. For a town like Newtown that attracts tourist, this place needs to go. I would just like to say the French toast sucked, the service was horrible, the bacon I ordered had some hairy substance growing on it, it was very chewy, and my waitress seemed to be pushing me out; as if I was holding her table up. I'd rather have a fat breakfast from McDonald's, or fake pancakes from Jakes! Please someone help this poor place, it's going down hill more and more each day!

Pat's is a neighborhood gem for breakfast. It's a cross between a divey restaurant (this is a compliment for a breakfast spit) and a down home kitchen. Small, but cozy, the portions are large and fairly priced. Go for the French Toast.

There was a short wait for a table because there are only a few of them, placed very close together. The atmosphere is very much home kitchen, with an eclectic selection of plates and mugs for place settings. The food was simple, fresh and delicious - although the coffee had a burned edge to the flavor. The fruit selections were fresh and flavorful on a waffle, and the strawberry jam is a must have. Prices were reasonable, and I was glad to see they accepted credit cards.

Pat's is located a block south of the heart of historic Newtown Boro and is a homey place for an early breakfast--its specialty, though it does serve lunch until 2pm, when it closes for the day. If you are looking for modern comfort, Pat;s is probably not the place to go: it is fairly small, the tables are close together, and the chairs are OK. But this is the kind of place to eat that is almost right out of a Norman Rockwell painting, complete with craft decorations suggesting an earlier, simpler life.

Pat's is the kind of place that has regulars who come in during the week before 7am and savor the time they spend together, talking about whatever, before the breakfast crowd arrives.

The staff is friendly and my experience with the breakfast menu has always been positive. Though I haven't had any, Pat's home-made jams are well-known in the area.

Most of the people I know like to eat breakfast at Pat's--at least occasionally--though weekends and holidays require getting there early to avoid the crowd. But frankly it's not the food, which is good, but the atmosphere and the friendly staff that make Pat's a place worth getting up early for, particularly during the week when you can relax, chat, and take in the ambiance.

This is a really homely appearing restaurant but unfortunately is very vegetarian unfriendly. Apparently, fish is classified as vegetarian food by Pat. I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian and dint eat fish. She seemed irritated when I tried to explain that I dont eat fish. The other waitress quickly defused the situation by getting me something else.

More annoying was pat's attempt to compensate by indulging in generic small talk. That aside , the breakfast was good but nothing to write home about. I was particularly impressed by their home made jam. Overall the service was average and food was decent! A "colonial" experience for someone from the sub-continent!
