Porches is everything I want in a Bed & Breakfast. The guest rooms and the common areas are all well kept and beautifully decorated with antique furniture, artwork, books, etc. Although much of it is surely quite valuable, you don't get the sense that you do at other places that you should be afraid to touch anything. It is amazingly comfortable.
In addition, the amenities are perfect, the location couldn't be better (Fisher's Alley seems secluded yet is right in the middle of everything), and they made breakfast exactly the way I wanted it.
Most impressive of all were the hosts. They went out of their way to make me feel more at home than I feel at home! Completely unlike the high level but insincere service you receive at five star hotels, John, Billy, Chrissie & Gail really do treat their guests as you like to think you would treat a houseguest.
I came expecting to stay in a typical B&B in a quaint historical American town. I left with friends, and I'm very much looking forward to staying at their wonderful house again.
