I've never written a review before but I have to tell the world how perfect this B&B really is. Worth every penny. The staff came outside just to show us where to park and introduce themselves with a smile. We had a perfect little room with a door to the outside porch which over looked the canal. In the morning I walked out on the porch and there was coffee out for guests and seating for breakfast (which was included and tasty). The location was perfect as we walked to shops, restaurant and bars.

My wife and I booked here after looking at B&B's in the New Hope and Lambertville NJ area. We decided to stay in PA. The building is nice and has great porches on the first and second floor where you eat breakfast. The weather was cool (in July) when we went so it made breakfast very refreshing. The food was GREAT. We did not have a choice of breakfast items, but the first morning we had waffles which were really good, and the second morning we had a great quiche-like casserole with sausage. It was wonderful. The owner was very nice and personable. A short walk to the end of the alley puts you on the nice streets of New Hope. Lambertville (across the river) is a short walk away. I'd recommend Porches to anyone. We had a great time and the B&B is close to all. P.S.-if you like wine tasting visit the New Hope Winery.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 4. I don't think any of the rooms are huge, but ours was more than adequate. We...

We stayed for one night and the owner was so kind to give us free upgrade to one of the nicest room in the main building(#5).

Like:-
Spacious room
Lovely decoration
Great coffee
Superb location (can walk to everything)
Free/ample on site parking
Meme (the owner"s little dog)
High grade towel

Dislike:-
Waffle based breakfast (this is personal though, it was very good breakfast but I would prefer English styled breakfast more)

My boyfriend and myself are both in our early twenties. We were searching for a great rate in the New Hope/Lambertville area. We saw Porches on the Towpath and decided to give it a try. It was WONDERFUL!!!!! All restaraunts, bars, and shops are just a few steps away. The setting is quiet, serene and almost tropical looking. The owners and everyone who works there were so lovely, giving us great advice while not being too invasive. We were hesitant about staying at a B&B since we're younger and planned to check out bars around the area. Because our AMAZING room had its own exterior entrance, we did not feel awkward or as if we were disturbing other guests when we came back late at night. This is a fabulous place.

My husband and I have traveled to a lot of b&b. the innkeeper was rated the best! Cared for your needs. Close to everything. Enjoyed breakfast with others . Ask the innkeeper to tell you story about the inn. Grab a bottle of wine n relax on the porches at night. Will return.

The Porches is elegant, relaxing and perfectly located in New Hope, PA. We enjoyed our 2 day stay and wish we had more time to be there. John is the perfect host and treats you like family. His breakfasts are wonderful...and there's always seconds. He spends time chatting and relating stories about the house and other places to visit in the area. He is eager to please his guests. When we left he was busy and we did not see him. But, he saw us and came running out to the car to say good-bye. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We loved our room in the cottage. Very private and quiet.

Porches was wonderful... I recently had the opportunity to share a 2 bedroom suite with my dear friend, Christina Crawford, and we both loved Porches... The breakfast was great each day.... The staff became our friends, and we can't wait to return! The beds are so comfortable and the water pleasure in the showers is very powerful.....
They even had coffee and juice for us at 5:15 AM on our day of departure..
Thanks again, Jerry Rosenberg, Producer, Surviving Mommie Dearest.....

Room Tip: Rooms 7&8 if you want a 3 room suite that sleeps 6!
