On our trip to New Hope last weekend we went to Rice's Market. It is just a few minutes drive from down town. They are open every Tuesday and Saturday from March through December. Parking is $1. There were literally hundreds of vendors all willing to negotiate. We got a good head start on our Christmas shopping.

“RIce's Market”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

This is a MUST.. at least once in a lifetime. Even though there are not as many vendors as they were in past years, you can find anything from scarves to plants/bushes to perfumes, costmetics, clothing, vegetables, etc. all in an Open market with parking and lots of food to purchase. Only open Tues and Sat. (Sat. not as many merchants as Tues.) . opens at 7:00 a.m. and by 1:30 to 2:00 pm. it is all over. worth a Tuesday and wonderful and some very unusual products to purchase.

“Good pickings!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

Rice's Market is a flea market. Therefore, expect to find everything from junk or treasure, depending upon what you like or don't like. There are regular vendors, people who are there every week, selling jewelry, handbags, and books. There are also people who show up just to sell off household things they don't want anymore, such as baby clothes, cookware, small furniture and so on. I'm confused by other reviewers complaining that it is only "junk." Well, it's a flea market. If you want upscale, go to Madison Avenue. I've bought and sold at this market several times with good results in terms of price/value. Some days are busy, other days less. Either way, there is great people watching and that odd item you just might find appealing. Parking is on the grass/gravel lot. Bathrooms are on site. Food is also sold here, soft pretzels, bagels, sweets.

“Waste of Time”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

Our recent visit to Rice's Market was a waste of time. There were many empty stalls on a beautiful Satruday. Much of what was for sale was junk the exception was the vendor offering JIm Shore and other collectibles for a very good competivite price. Rest rooms were awful too. There are much better things to to when visting New Hope.

Popular market where people return often. It is like treasure hunting. You never know what special things you will find.
