I was with 7 women to celebrate a very special birthday for one member of our party. The restaurant is set back from the main street and one should have their eyes open to find the entrance. The owner does place a small sandwich board near the street (but not visible by a car) to mark that you are here. The food is fresh, no menu, so what the chef picks out at the market is what you get. There are a variety of choices listed verbally by the waitstaff. Everything we ate from the salads to the main courses were well prepared and flavorful. The presentation was lacking but the quality of the food made up for a lack of artistry on the plate. The chef/owner is extremely friendly and spends time talking to his customers as well as sharing a sip or two of wine with your group. (it is BYOB) We ordered a birthday cake from a local bakery and the owner did not mind bringing in a local vendor to supply the cake. The pastas are home made the salads are an interesting combination of flavors, and the sauces are divine. If you are in a hurry don't come to the Italian Cucina. Your food is carefully prepared as ordered and the kitchen is small. Reservations a must! I would like to return in the fall to taste the seasonal changes to the menu.
