My family and I visited New Hope yesterday and we were astonished about this place. Its architecture is just beautiful and colorful. It is a small town so its very easy to walk through all the streets, my favorite Main St. We decided to take the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad and let me tell you that you want to take pictures everywhere, amazing landscapes!. I TOTALLY recommend this place.

The charge for this train ride for my 3 year old grandson, my husband and myself, was 190.00 including tax. We had first class seating with a wooden table and chairs. The rail car was semi restored and nice enough. It cost 20.00 to park in the lot by the train. We were each served a lukewarm, overly sweet cup of thin, hot chocolate and a single, stale chocolate chip cookie. It would have cost an additional 20.00 to have our picture taken with Santa, we declined. There were other food stuffs and alcoholic drinks available for purchase during the 45 minute train ride. The gifts for the children included a low end candy cane, and a single bell on a ribbon loop, this was presented in a small pouch. The bells were to be shaken during singing. A fellow with a banjo sang and played Christmas songs during the ride. Santa and Mrs. Clause came around and said hello and shook hands during the ride. Scenery during the ride was ok. Over all, a mildly pleasant, over priced excursion.

It was a very nice experience, we brought our grandson for his 7th birthday. We went to Northlandz in Flemington, NJ in the morning. We absolutely loved the train display and we will go back, for sure. Lunch at Lambertville Station was delicious and the train ride in the afternoon. We rode the first class train and the parlor car was beautifully decorated, and clean. We sat at a table and had warm cocoa with chocolates chip cookies. His visit with Santa Claus was magical and we bought the picture the photographer took of us. A sweet older woman played the guitar and sang a couple of kids songs. All in all, a nice ride, the the best part was the personal Santa Visit at our table. It is expensive but they are only children for a little while!

Very nice!!!! Very relaxing!! My son is a train man so he enjoyed it.

Wait until living social has the special. Purchasing tickets without it can be very pricey. I paid $28.50 for 1 adult/1child.
I arrived late, the staff was very helpful in putting us on the next train, which was great. We share a coach with 4 other small families.

Pros: Friendly staff, friendly families aboard the train, sung christmas songs, pictures with santa and ms claus, treats for the kids, fresh baked cookies, hot chocalate, music.
First class is available at a higher price. Train ride was about an hour round trip.
Wear your pj's and robes.

Cons:
Not much to see at night. Take this train ride between 4 and 5 pm. Try not to go on a day when it rains, the kids won't see much out of the window.

Can't wait to do it again next year!!!

Took our granddaughters (6 & 7) on the NH & Ivyland RR this past summer. If you enjoy treetops, you'll love this trip! Ride is short, nothing interesting to see & much too expensive. The girls were laying down on their seats all the way back to the station. The conductor was abrasive. Went to take a picture in the open air car (which costs more to sit in) and were told to get back to our seats because he didn't want anyone hurt on his watch. The train wasn't even moving! That's the last train ride for me!

Thank you for your candid review of the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad. We are constantly improving the experience of our train excursions based on feedback from our guests. For many, the excitement of riding aboard authentic passenger cars pulled by a steam engine is an experience unto itself. We are also proud to steam through the unspoiled beauty of New Hope which is a highlight we frequently hear about from our guests. We invite you to contact us to let us know what changes you feel would enhance the experience and hope you will come ride with us again!
