“Made to Order!”

This "little cafe that can" was once a ticket station for the now historic steam train that runs through our town. I've been to the cafe for breakfast, lunch, and coffee, and enjoyed it each time. The friendly owner sets you up with simple, oft locally-sourced fare with a twist. The quality is fresh and service is timely. I love their hobo lunch and my DD enjoyed their baked oatmeal. The nicest thing is the small touches to let you know your business is appreciated. When I requested an empty cup to share cocoa with my little one so I could cool it down, they sent out a tiny cocoa with whip in a cappuccino cup for her so she could have her own!

“Cozy cafe on the railroad”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

New Freedom is a few miles off the main highway, but it seems to be a charming small town. This place seems to exemplify that. It's a small restaurant/cafe, but on a cold morning, a group of four of us enjoyed some pretty good sandwiches. Dad and I had the knuckle sandwich - a sandwich with egg and cheese and for my dad, smoked ham, which he enjoyed. I didn't enjoy my turkey sausage quite as much as he did but still good. Fiancée and my mom enjoyed their lunch sandwiches, which come with some garlicky popcorn for a side.

Kudos to a small town restaurant trying to make it work with fresh and healthier ingredients and food. Plus, it looks to be in an old rail depot, so there's some charm there as well. Glad we stopped there. Friendly staff as well.

A coffee shop with wraps and specials.
Breakfast was good, coffee was hot and the service was good.
They have a hobo theme (railroad theme).

“Same Spot, New Name”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Went looking for the New Freedom Railroad Café, and found the Rail Trail Café in it's spot. Had the special of the day, black bean patty and it was very good. pleasant casual atmosphere. Order and pay at the counter, and they bring your food to the table. And they have tables outside. it's along the Rail Trail, so you can stop in while biking. Soup, salad, kids meals, breakfast. menu prices range from $3.00 to $8.75 . they are open from 8am-3pm Sun-Thurs and 8am-8pm Fri & Sat 717-227-0299
