On our way home to New York. We found out about this place 10 minutes off of I 80. The place is well kept, clean, and a large variety of animals. Most of them you can have interaction with which is the best part. This is a small local place that surpasses any big zoo out there. The staff were all great, helpful, and informative. So if your in wester Pennsylvania, take the time to go see this place.

This was our second trip to this park and it was even better second time around. I was so amazed at the literally hands on experiences afforded the guests. Where else can you actually touch and feed a giraffe?? The great variety of animals was terrific, too. This place is pristine, all under the shade of lovely trees. The wonderful petting are was great fun with out granddaughter. And then there is a inexpensive gift shop with a sizable inventory,,with something to satisfy all.One of the most appreciated aspects is the very reasonable ticket prices! I really don't know where in the tristate are where you could find a more delightful place at such reasonable prices. My husband and I will return even without our granddaughter!!

I recently visited Living Treasures in New Castle for the first time in nearly twenty years and was so impressed that I am now considering buying a season pass (a mere $30 will allow you unlimited park access plus discount feed--a GREAT deal!).
The park has a wide variety of animals from all over the world--monkeys, flamingos, wild cats, kangaroos, giraffes, bison... and so much more! A lot of the animals can be fed by purchasing a bucket of feed ($3.50 at the entrance) for an up close and personal experience.
One of the big advantages Living Treasures has over the Pittsburgh Zoo (if you can even compare the two) is that it is much more manageable in size for families with small children or the elderly. You can see and experience the animals in their natural habitats without having to walk for miles and miles without rest. It isn't a compromise by any means, however, as you'll never forget the experience of feeding and petting the giraffes or riding a camel! The camel rides are offered for just $4.00!
The staff was extremely visible and pleasant--they were eager to answer questions and help with anything.
There is a lovely gift shop as well with extremely affordable souvenirs and well-maintained restroom facilities.

A visit to Living Treasures in New Castle is sure to be a lifelong memory--put it on your to-do list for the immediate future!
