The Inn of New Berlin
Ranked #1 of 1 New Berlin B&B and Inns
Reviewed February 28, 2009

We visited New Berlin, a town full of history in a very scenic valley. The inn is beautifully decorated and has a spacious and well-tended garden. The room was quiet--no TV, for a change, which was ideal for us. Dinner was absolutely top-drawer, as was brteakfast (breakfast is included in the room price). The owners, Nancy and Robert, are attentive, have very interesting backgrounds, and are wonderful conversationalists. You couldn't do better than to stay at The Inn at New Berlin!

This was our second visit to the Inn at New Berlin. We stayed in the Samuel Aurand House which is a block away from the main inn. Guests have use of the living room and kitchen where they can prepare a warm beverage, enjoy a homemade cookie, and just relax. We especially like the gas fireplace and whirlpool tub in Room 9 - very cozy and romantic, especially when a light snow is falling outside your window. One advantage of this inn is you can have a full dinner in the dining room or lighter fare in the tavern. The meals are delicious and very nicely presented by an overly-efficient staff. Nancy Schanck, one of the owners, is very sweet and helpful. She goes out of her way to make you feel special. Breakfast is served at the time you specify and a variety of choices is available. There is a cute little gift shop next door to the inn where you can purchase mugs, homemade granola that they serve at the inn, books, home decor items, etc. We always make it a point to visit this nice, little shop. We also like Shade Mountain Winery, Penns Creek Pottery, and American Heritage Craftsmen in Milton, PA. All are nearby the inn. This is a perfect spot for a romantic getaway!

My husband surprised me with a getaway weekend for my 50th birthday. We like very much to stay at B & B's in the Select Registry book. After my husband made the reservations and spoke to the Owner to make special arrangements for our dinner on Saturday evening, I must say that we both were amazed at the service, the preparation of the gourmet meal and the fabulous atmosphere that we received. The room that was reserved was absolutely lovely, clean and a very spacious bathroom that offered a jacuzzi tub for two and with free use of the house we felt like we were home. This Inn is a great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or get to know each other again. We loved our stay and we will certainly be back. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable one!

We spent two quiet and relaxing nights at the Inn. Arriving on Friday, we found our room to be very spacious, well-appointed and cozy, much more than we expected!!! We made reservations for dinner at the Inn, starting out with drinks out by the gardens, and then a very well prepared and presented dinner! The food was wonderful, with a inviting (relaxing) view from the dining room overlooking the garden and walkways in the back of the Inn.
A quiet, peaceful area, just to unwind, though we were in the House on the next street, it was a short, enjoyable walk to the actual Inn and Gift Shop. The breakfast, which you order off the menu, was excellent, with a very attentive wait staff, you got the royal treatment !!
The Innkeepers and staff were all very friendly and helpful, but didn't overwhelm you like we've seen at some B&B's we've been to. Though there's not much to do in town, there are some shops and farm markets within a 15-20 minute ride, which we did on Saturday, even watched a Little League Game for a few minutes before going in to an Antiques Mall. We went out to dinner on Saturday evening to one of the places listed in the book the Inn had in the room, Skeeters! Great food and not a long way to drive!
Overall, a great stay, no complaints, except one. We only got to stay 2 nights!!!
Will be back again and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quiet, laid-back atmosphere.

The Inn at New Berlin is a lovely Victorian style inn which also includes a restaurant. Our room was large and furnished beautifully. We had dinner at the restaurant as well as the included breakfast, and the food both times was excellent. Although the town is somewhat remote, we highly recommend this inn if you're travelling through PA.
