“Another Sunday Drive”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Driving through the Poconos we decided to stop at Mountainhome Diner. Home cooking at its' best. Omelettes of all sorts, fresh pastries including home made Baklava. Meatloaf, chicken, mousaka, you name it, they have it. The waitresses were very pleasant and cheerful, the owner came around to chat. Love this place, will stop in again and try to make enough room for dessert!

“Honest, good old-fashioned home cooking”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, don't bother looking here. If you're looking for an old-fashioned diner where you get good, simple food, then pay at the front when you're done, this is the place. The menu is extensive, with plenty of home cooking-style meals. I had the French Onion soup (quite good) and a meatball parmigiana sub (good and filling). All in all, the food was very good, and I think this would be a great stop for any meal of the day. The service was a bit slow, but didn't detract much from the meal (I wasn't in any hurry). I haven't tried the desserts here, but I can highly recommend Jimmie's next door for ice cream!

“Felt like home”

Great food and service. Prices should have been HIGHER that's how good it was. I believe they have "Jimmies" next door which is a ice cream stand. Choc and peanut butter sundue was the best

Good food. Plenty of it. Omlettes are great. Sandwiches packed with whatever you ordered. Close to home or worth the trip!

“Blueberry Pancakes”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

The blueberry pancakes are amazing! This diner is very clean and beautifully decorated in a country setting. Sadly, the service standards were lacking a bit.....second cup of coffee should be a given......better service would have made this a perfect breakfast.
