“A Woderful little getaway tucked in the mountains”
Reviewed December 9, 2005

Paradise Stream is a wonderful resort nestled in the mountains of the Poconos. Service is always excellant and the staff cheerful. We have been to this resort at least 30 times and each visit is better then the previous one. Its small size makes for a cozy homey feeling and everyone there remembers you by name.
The social directers are outstanding and always have fun activities to offer. The food is excellant and the couples you meet at the tables are usually all pleasant. If service is slow there is always a good reason, for example the grand opening, although I wasn't there I am sure there were kinks to be worked out and any slow dining room service would have ben caused by these kinks. There is no other place on earth I would rather spend a vacation then Paradise Stream. I will return there often and I know I will be longing to be there when I am home.

We arrived the day they reopened (10/25/05) after renovations because of a flood. They opened a little too early. They were still doing construction on the grounds and everything wasn't fixed yet, like the romantic bridge they advertised. The huge trucks laying out smelly tar on the grounds was a real turnoff. Dining room service was ultra slow, though the food was excellent. We enjoyed meeting other couples who they have you sit with at meals. As part of our package, they gave us a free bottle of champaign but didn't provide glasses. We had brought with our own wine, but when we asked for glasses they said we'd have to buy them at the gift shop. The free photo album came in a grease-stained box and consisted solely of a cover and back with no binding and no pages for pictures. We threw it in the garbage. We only had a VCR in our room, no DVD, and their list of titles to rent was extremely limited, especially videos. Make sure you ask for a room with a DVD if this is importatnt to you. Our whirlpool filled up very, very slowly and the pipes had built up a gross residue after not being used for 6 months, which poured into our bath making our romantic whirlpool bath quite distasteful. We thought the management should have taken care of that ahead of time. Overall, I have to say my husband and I were surprised at how shabby things were. The game room carpeting was stained. In the game room the fitness machines were placed right behind the pool tables which was an awkward setup if you wanted to work out. The lounge had a table with duct tape along part of its edge. We thought this was tacky. The grounds are very close to the road, so when you're in the indoor pool and whirlpool area, you can see cars driving by on the road. We stayed in a Campaign Towers room. On the one hand the suite was impressive, with all it offered, and it was quite romantic. On the other hand you could tell it had been well used and it didn't feel sparkly clean or new. Also, if you plan on staying in your room during the day, it's kind of dark if you need sunlight. The steam shower for two was way too narrow. It was barely comfortable for one person, and certainly not comfortable for two. The steam head was at the bottom of the shower and burned your feet when the steam came out, so using it as a steam room wasn't a comfortable option. The bedroom was really nice with "starlight" lights on the ceiling above the bed and a lounge table with comfortable chairs. We put a candle on the table and it felt like our own private lounge. The private pool, though on the small side, was a delight. The water was bath-temperature and the pool overlooked the living-room-with-fire-place through ceiling to floor windows. They charge you $4 per fire log. We think they should have included one log free per night for the amount they charge. We paid $500 per night. We were aghast when we saw that the gratuity was close to $60/day. We enjoyed the sauna, though the massage table didn't have an opening for your head, like a professional masseuse would have, so we skipped this. The Boise radio was really nice, though ours didn't include a CD player. If this is important to you, ask for a suite that has one. Overall, my husband and I were not impressed with this resort. We were surprised it was part of the famous Caesar's Palace. It was quite shabby, the grounds really weren't all that beautiful (we've seen some beautiful resorts in our day) and could have made guests feel more welcome by including those little-but-important extras, like wine and champaign glasses, free fire logs, free use of video and DVD movies, free decks of cards. They did take a full-night's stay off our bill when we presented our complaints, especially about the whirlpool and the grounds not being ready for visitors, but this wasn't enough to make us eager to return.

Travelers are raving about these Mount Pocono hotels

After reading all of the reviews posted on this website I wanted to include my opinion. Just got back from a weekend at the Caesars Pocono Resort (Paradise Stream). Didn't quite know what to expect, but I have to say it was pretty alright. We stayed at the renovated Diana's Oasis and it was lovely. The only thing that we disliked has to be the bed. Beware, beds are very uncomfortable. But otherwise had a great time. You can pretty much decide if you want to take it easy or do all the activities they offer.

Out of a scale of 1-10, I rate Paradise Stream an 8. We'll definetly be back but next time want to stay at the towers (heard they are real nice).

My husband and I cannot believe how disappointed (and at times disgusted) we were with this resort.

The lobby of the resort presents a dated, seedy and tacky appearance (something you almost come to expect with the lover's getaway reputation these resorts have). What was offensive was that it was very smoky and smelled of stale cigarettes. The best thing about our trip was that the checkin and checkout experience was easy and pleasant.

The resort is campus style with a main building housing the lobby, restauruant, and bar/lounge/disco. There is a separate gift shop and a recreation building with a cafe, public indoor pool and hot tub, 2 racketball courts, game room with many video and pinball games, pool tables, air hockey, ping pong and backgammon tables. (This area was the nicest facility at the resort.) The fitness room is temporarily closed as it had a fire from a tanning bed malfunction. There is reciprocity with the other Caesar resorts which are within half hour or so driving distance, so we went snowmobiling at nearby Pocono Palace. It was free and a lot of fun, but only a 5 minute run on the golf course (way too short for the drive we took to get there).

We reserved a Garden of Eden suite (it was recommended over the famous champagne glass tub suite). It was very clean, but there are no windows so you feel like you are in tomb. It is spacious with a living room area that has a red heart shaped tub surrounded by mirrors and then there is a sunken bedroom area and bathroom. The bedroom looks out onto your own inside "plunge pool" and there is a small sauna off of that area. The lving room has a small tv/vcr combo and the bedroom has a somewwhat uncomfortable round shaped bed with a mirrored headboard (the mattress felt like foam), a fireplace (you can order duralogs for $4.50 a piece) and a large screen tv, vcr and cd player. The suite certainly "serves its purpose" for those who want to take advantage of its amenities (in both lover and nonlover mode!), but we found the lack of natural light and outside scenery strange seedy.

There was a little walk from our room area to the main building. The room buildings are very odd and ugly from the outside reminding us of masaleums or crematoriums which gave us a good laugh.

The worst thing about the resort was the food. It was simply horrendous and barely edible. So much so that my husband and I got violently ill after eating a seafood bisque as an appetizer for dinner. Many of our table guests sent back there main course dishes asking for another and when the new one came they chose not to eat that one either. The dining room is smoky and it did not appear too clean. Wait staff was pleasant, but not too attentive. Be prepared to either be hungry, order food off the premises or get sick!

Given the cost of a two night stay, we think this is a terrilbe value. It was almost $900 for a 2 night stay for a 1 star experience (it only gets 1 star for the recreational options and the skiing options nearby). A couple can stay at a 5 star hotel in many other areas for that price and have a quality experience. Buyer beware!!!

Sincerely,
A Romantic couple Recovering from food poisoning,

I dont even know where to begin. Paradise Stream was one of the best mini-vacations I have ever taken. Romance is everywhere. The staff is so friendly, they accomodate your every need. We stayed in the Champagne Towers and it far exceded our expectations!! I was a little worried about the room being dirty, but to my surprise everything was spotless. The pool is amazing and the champagne whirlpool is unbelieveable. Breakfast in bed is a nice touch as with rooms like that you never want to leave. Dinners are o.k., nothing great (except the make-your-own ice cream sundae bar). You have to sit with other couples, but we are very outgoing people, so we didn't mind. We met some great people. I would recommend going when they host a big name entertainer. We saw Marc Curry & he was excellent. The "house" comedians were horrible as was the band. Drinks are outrageously priced--I suggest bringing your own if you drink alot. Definitely go if you are in the need for romance, we re-kindled ours here. Paradise Stream is the smallest & most intimate of the resorts and we like it that way. We will definetly be back!!!!

Just got back from our anniversary weekend at Paradise Stream. We had the newly renovated Diana's Oasis room with a heart shaped hot tub and private heated pool. This is a great place for couples to enjoy each other. There are many activities and sports to choose from and the food was good. The breakfast in bed food was just okay, but it was fun to try it. The resort is expensive, but it is worth it for the experience.
