“Very badly maintained facility”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It is readily apparent that the owner of this facility does not wish to expend the monetary resources necessary to maintain this facility in a competitive manner.

The video link below shows just some of the issues found in the bathroom of room 108. There are many other issues with the structure that appear to be from lack of attention to detail. There are even some issues that would be electrical code violations. Specifically, there is an outlet about 2 half feet above the waffle maker in the customer kitchen area that has no faceplate and an orange female end of an extension cord is protruding from the hole.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQV4CcBE0Tk

The shower head could be fixed easily by the housekeeping staff when they 1st enter the room. They could tie a 1 gallon Ziploc bag full of CLR or vinegar around the showerhead prior to their performing the room cleaning duties and when they are complete with those, remove the Ziploc bag and rinse the shower head for example.

There is no mechanical air evacuation in the bathrooms. This means that the very humid/steamy air after a shower causes rust on all the metal (iron-based) surfaces. All the door hinges and the louvered vent screen were rusted.

There is an NEC electrical code violation in the common eating area above the self-serve waffle maker. The female end of an orange extension cord is protruding out of a cutout in the wall. It appears that the hole was designed to have a face plate covering it but there is only the j-ring and the extension cord sticking out of it.

This place was absolutely disgusting and filthy. We stayed here because my company made reservations for us not knowing what it was like. After a day we moved out. The carpet was old and stained, the chairs were all stained, the rooms smelled the sheets on my bed had holes in them and were dirty, my towels looked used and the bathroom was filthy. The handles on all drawers were broken, the lamp shades were torn and the breakfast was awful. I will not be staying with this chain ever again. I would recommend sleeping in your car if you had a choice of this hotel or the car.

We had a one bedroom suite with a separate room for the bedroom with a king-size bed. There was a kitchen area near the entrance with a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and many cabinets. There was a television and drawers in both rooms. The living room had a fake fireplace, a queen-size sofa bed, armchair, desk, and chair. The heart-shaped bathtub is outside the bathroom.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is available and ample. The room was clean and pleasant. The breakfast was acceptable. The hotel was probably really lovely at one time. Now it is functional and serviceable. The basin in the bathroom sink no longer actually connects completely to the vanity. And everything is slightly off, having seen better days. The pool and hot tub are decent, but it would be nice if they provided relaxation. It was not the greatest value since we've stayed at similar hotels for the same price ($149 plus tax) but the other hotels were cleaner and fresher.

I booked a room to avoid going back to my dark and cold home in NJ recently. The staff was gracious and accommodating. The room was perfect - clean, warm, fully functional and cheerfully decorated. Take your own pillow though as theirs are not very supportive. The front desk's recommendation of the Japanese Tea House up the highway was stellar. Great food in a relaxed atmosphere where the owner Sue is friendly and talkative. Overall a lovely place to stay for the price.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms are quiet.

Grateful for heat and hot shower during hurricane Sandy. Hotel Rooms, & bathroom dated. Furniture old, and upholstery stained. Lobby furniture worn. Linens on bed were rough and itchy. Pillows were small sofa size foam pillows and very uncomfortable. Had to move out of room the second day to another because hotel was full. Lucky there was a canceltion because no power at my home in Jersey. Unfortunately the second room was in the same condition. Breakfast was included in room rate but was terrible. Coffee was poor quality. Front desk personnel was polite and helpful. Shower and heat & hot water were good for our old and weary bodies after 5 days of no power. But that was all this hotel delivered on.

We were there for only one night to attend a wedding at Sky Top. No fault of the management, but the rooms are dated, and a bit run down. Check in was a breeze, all personal we met were extremely polite. The room we stayed in on the second floor was a disappointment. The walls are paper thin, and we could hear every conversation and TV above, below, and next to us. When people above us used the toilet, we thought someone was in our bathroom. Thankfully there was a window type air conditioner, so we could put the fan on to block noises around us. The mattress was uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy foam. Bring your own. The plug in the bathroom didn't work, so the hairdryer was useless. Some previous guest had removed the batteries from the safe in the closet, so that was useless. We didn't want anyone in our room when we left it to go to the wedding, so we didn't tell them about these things until we checked out. The housekeeper was compelled to bang the vacuum around outside our door in the morning, maybe to get us moving? In housekeeping's favor, the room was spotless, sheets were soft, plenty of towels. We had other plans for breakfast, so we did not use this service. All in all, for this location and price, it was okay. Just okay.

Room Tip: Try for a quieter room on the third floor, but smell it before you take it. We heard that in the pas...

I was at this hotel for nearly month on a work assignment. I loved it. Staff is awesome. The general manager, Anthony, makes you feel very welcome & treats you like family. The housekeeping staff was very respectful of my work & sleep hours and easily accomodated me with my room needs. A hot breakfast was very welcoming every mornig when I came in from work. It is completely non smoking, but it's just a step out the door to a smoking area. The owners are nice too. Overall, I loved my stay & will definitely stay there again if I'm back in the area for work or pleasure.
