This was our first trip to Rocky Acre, and we will return year after year. The room was very clean, the staff was wonderful and our three children can not stop talking about our trip. The free boat rentals and morning activities were a big plus. This was also a wonderful stay for my wife and I, and helped improve our relationship.

I hate to write a semi-negative review but honestly I did not see what the hype is all about. The place needs some serious remodeling, the owners were not particularly friendly and while breakfast was good- it was not worth everything else. We felt really crowded with all the other families there and the 'rules' of quiet and other things were not followed by fellow guests. I know the owners can't control the people who register but it seems that they might need to not allow a family of four to stay in a small room. We found the owners not particularly welcoming or nice. We definitely like the idea of visiting a farm since we live in the city- but we won't be returning to the Rocky Acre Farm.

The farm is in a good location but again, the rooms need a serious makeover.

I am sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. I realize your daughter was not particularly happy or feeling well which can put a damper on any vacation. We strive to make our guests feel welcome and "at home" while they are enjoying the farm experience. Many of our guests find new friends at the farm and return for another visit together. We close each winter for remodeling and updates to the rooms and appreciate watching our return guests enjoy our efforts. We would appreciate the opportunity to have you visit with us again.

If you want to get away from it all, go to Rocky Acre. A family run place, delicious breakfasts, cozy rooms, a working farm, a chance for children to get away from tv, computers and video games. And they will not regret it. For more fun, half an hour away is Hershey Park. You stay in a farmhouse with other families or you can choose the cottages. The owners are such pleasant people and everyday at 8:30 a bell sounds for everyone to gather around the table to have breakfast and the food does not stop coming.

What a wonderful, memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience. We all had a great time. The kids played on bikes, shot hoops, rode the golf cart, picked eggs in the chicken coop, fed the calves with huge milk bottles, kayaked in a river on the property with the B&B's own kayak, milked a cow, saw a cow delivering a baby, played with the kittens and more and more and......because they (9 and 10 yr old boys) had fun, we (mom and dad) could relax. A perfect vacation! We even had dinner with an Amish family, visited a farmer's market, visited a pretzel factory, played laser tag, toured a brewery and saw lots of horse and buggies in nearby Lancaster PA. Our room (Founders Suite) was super spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hearty and yummy and fun! We had dietary restrictions that were handled appropriately too! We highly recomend a 3 day stay at Rocky Acres Farm

I just completed my 50th night at what our 10-year old calls his "home away from home"! We travel the easy 2-hr. trip from southern new jersey about 3 or 4 times a year to spend time in a world that brings us pure joy!

Children get to play while adults can sit and read/relax, enjoy the beauty while having that extra cup of coffee. So much to do in the area and so much to do staying put right at this farm! In fact, most children do not want to leave the grounds because they get to play without carpools, scheduled activities, pick-ups and drop-offs, etc.

Just like the days gone by ...... (but with beautiful, comfortable rooms) and a to-die-for breakfast and owners that are happy to have you!!

If you see an open weekend of their website -- GRAB it quickly ..... and consider yourself lucky!! ENJOY!

What a fabulous vacation! The farm is beautiful, the breakfast unbelievable, the activities on the farm all such a delight! My children whined to be taken back to the farm every time we drove out of the parking lot. I've never had such a wonderful vacation. Eileen and Galen make you feel like family.

My wife, young child and I had extended a road trip just to stay at this B&B because they have just remodeled a room called the Founders Suite and it looked very nice. We reserved this room, confirmed that we had this room in an email and then later by phone. We arrived at the B&B and were met by and employee who informed us that we would be staying at the apartment, which was an "upgrade". Then she asked didn't we call you? They had not. Still trying to be positive we walked to the apartment with our guide and found a dark and dusty apartment with stained carpets, not the newly redone "suite" which we had booked. When we asked why we were switched we were told someone had shown up that they did not think would and they were given our room. We did not see this as an upgrade, it was not an appropriate place for our child to be crawling around.

We did not stay and ended up at a lovely Marriot...So much for supporting an independent business.

Oh and Rocky Acre Farm, just so you know, just because a room is more expensive-- because it has more beds...it is not an upgrade.

We apologize for our error in not contacting you. The family in the room had reserved a three night stay and arrived a day later than were scheduled. Instead of moving them on their third day we were hoping to give you the larger accommodations for your one night stay as an exchange.

We also understand our Apartment cannot compete with a brand new room even if it has a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and a bath.

We strive to meet each of our guest needs and apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. It is not our policy to switch rooms and we will take your comment as a reminder to adhere to that policy.
