“Good Sushi/Sashimi”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Stayed in the neighborhood for a flight out of the airport next morning. Found this restaurant nearby among loads of others. I always enjoy chinese/japanese, and this place didn't disappoint. The dining area isn't anything exceptional - pretty basic with a small "sushi bar." The server was new and didn't understand what I wanted to drink (a mixed drink); the "manager" quickly came by the help. Service was very good and the food presentation was very nice (I had the sashimi combination which was almost more than I could eat). The hot & sour soup (my fav.) was good, the seaweed salad (another of my fav.'s) which was pretty typical in taste and presentation. The restaurant was almost empty at 7 PM on a Sunday evening, so quick service was to be expected. The restaurant is easy to locate off the airport expressway (about 1 mile off on the left), there are lots of other places to eat if chinese/japanese isn't your cuisine preference, several gas stations if you need to gas up your rental, as I did, and there was lots of parking. In summary, a decent place to get oriental food with very reasonable prices. It's a "to go" place, so if you want to call in an order to take back to your hotel or home, I witnessed quite a few pick-ups while dining. Highly recommend for price and value - just don't expect a "haute cuisine atmosphere." Will dine here again if in the area.

“Evening out”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

My husband and I love Kiyoshi's since it is close to home and very affordable. The atmosphere is nice and they do have a sushi bar, even though we do not like sushi. The food has always been great and the server always making sure we have everything we need. The teriyaki steak skewers are very good as appetizers and the sevings are big....we always have a doggie bag.

Stayed locally prior to flying out of PIT and hesitantly tried this place out with a few friends. The sushi was OK; however, I would not be getting anything raw. The server was very attentive and nice. Does not have the contemporary Asian decor that is present in most Japanese Steak Houses (which this clearly is not), but the establishment itself is satisfactory. Would not recommend if you want a great sushi night, but it's ok if you're in the area.

Thank Kristi S

“Great Food, Great Drinks”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

This Chinese restaurant had a fire which caused it to close down for several months. The remodeled interior is warm, comfortable and has a pleasant ambiance. In addition to a full service bar, (which offers some interesting, delicious cocktails and a nice selection of wine and beer), there is a Sushi Bar with a large choice of soups and salads. The Chinese menu offers the usual, standard choices, with some 30 Chef's specials. A favorite of ours is the Eggplant Dumpling dish....so good! The staff and service are friendly. Since it's re-opening, it seems that many more people have discovered this wonderful restaurant...and for good reason. It's one of the best in the Airport area of Pittsburgh Pa.
