We've eaten at Johnson's many times. Food is good to very good. The specials are sometimes very interesting and sometimes creative. Best place to sit is at the small bar -- the barkeeps are often interesting sources of local lore and happenings. Lots of beers on tap. Family owned and operated. It's American food...so let's get our expectations in line here: not a continental dining experience.... Some good dishes: strawberry pecan chicken salad, carmelized pear and grilled chicken salad, meatloaf, reuben, cedar bourbon planked salmon.

If you're in to food that lacks any flavor at all and is priced way too high, you'll love it here. Portion sizes are good, but the quality is lacking. Atmosphere is nothing to get excited about- they put a table of eight adults in the back room which looks to be mostly used for larger parties or banquets.

I hear over and over from the Montoursville locals how good this place is. Well I finally went there and ... ho hum. Definitely not worth writing home about. The decor is out dated and plain. The prices slightly high for what it is. The menu was limited and nothing to get excited about. I ordered sauteed filet tips in marinade. I believe the marinade ended up being teriyaki sauce and it was not good. The tips were overly fatty. The garlic mashed potatoes were decent but they put the steak and marinade on them so they were mostly ruined as well. I did enjoy my amaretto sour though.
