“Great food for the price, nice place”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Great food for the price, great attention, courteous and concerned about the patrons.
Food is nothing special, but is well done and tasty.
Impressive variety of beers, truly for the connoisseur.

“They’ve Lost My Future Business”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

Gateway Grill has a good lineup of draft beers on 34 taps and an impressive selection of bottled beers in the adjacent six-pack shop. My wife and I have had some GREAT beers and some good food here many times. But a recent policy change means we will never go back.

Here’s why Gateway Grille has lost all my future business. Effective a few months ago, they no longer offer samples of strong craft beers. None. Not even a tiny swallow. Oh, you can buy a sample, for $2.50 or so for a couple of ounces (it works out to about $12 per pint), but there are now absolutely NO complimentary tastes. On our last visit in June, we couldn’t believe our ears when the bartender said we couldn't sample two big IPAs we were interested in. We talked to the manager and tried to convey how important it was for a fine beer bar to offer customers tastes of unfamiliar beers before they commit to buy a full pint—as Gateway Grill used to do. It was all to no avail. NO exceptions, period!

To me, this is the kiss of death. Many other brewpubs and craft beer bars in the area with equally good draft lineups DO gladly offer samples. I’m thinking of Fat Heads, Dad’s, Mad Mex, Full Pint, Rivertowne—ALL of them are happy to provide tastes of their beers. A tiny sample of beer costs NOTHING, and yet Gateway Grill is willing to sacrifice customer satisfaction and future business for--WHAT, exactly? What do they gain from refusing to offer beer samples?

I won’t patronize a beer bar that refuses to offer small samples to help me decide what beer to order. Gateway Grill’s new, greedy, short-sighted, customer-unfriendly policy means we will enjoy our craft beers elsewhere in the future.

“Was OK...but the waiter so no so good”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Their pizzas were huge and good, it is a busy place but we didn't have good luck with the waiter. But my boyfriends family love this place and sometimes just call their order

“Great place for lunch”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

First time here. Gets very busy at lunch time. We arrived at 11:30am and had no problem getting a booth. Lots of options on menu and also a lunch special menu. Prices are moderate to inexpensive. Waitress very nice. I had the veggie salad-it's huge and excellent. It had sautéed cauliflower and zucchini on it with tomatoes and other veggies. House Italian dressing is very good also. No bread served with salad, so you may want to ask. Saw lots of people eating pizza-looked good! My friend had the cheesesteak lunch special, served with chips. Looked good and he liked it.
