We've eaten at Elk Creek dozens of times and always look forward to the next. My husband always gets the fish and chips and raves about the generous portions and excellent flavor. I really appreciate the fact that there are usually a few vegetarian options available--the vegetable risotto is fantastic--and many of the ingredients are locally sourced. Don't miss out on the beer either. The Winkleblink and Copper Ale are two of our favorites. When there is live music, it can be difficult to carry on a conversation. But if you're there for the music, that doesn't matter, and even if you're not, you'll be too busy eating the delicious fare to talk anyway. The staff is very friendly and attentive as well.

The food was very good but time from waitress taking our order to meal delivery was not so great. It took about 20-30 minutes. We did have a drink at the bar before being seated and the bartender was excellent.

What a privilege to have a spot like this in the State College area. The food is good and locally sourced. Several of the beers like Double Rainbow IPA are excellent. They bring in very good music. A well run, fun, and friendly spot that is definitely worth the drive.

I stopped by here after dropping a child at Camp Woodward down the road. What a great surprise! Excellent beer, great breakfast burrito, and helpful staff. The bar was populated with local beer geeks who directed me to other breweries in the area. I met a farmer, a professor, and a musician all in for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. I took a couple bombers to go. And when in Millheim, I will go back for sure!

The Elk Creek Cafe has it all and in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. There are chalkboard specials and Happy Hour daily. The dining areas are bright and open. There is interesting art on the walls. Service is friendly and timely. The menu is pub fare with a few very interesting selections. Our party of three shared appetizers. The fried oysters were very good with a mild breading and mayo based dipping sauce. The beer cheese bread was uninteresting. The fresh spinach salad with feta cheese, roasted beets and a mild vinaigrette was excellent . Two of us shared the beer battered fish and chips. It wasn't the best I've eaten but moist, tasty and served nice and hot. The smoked trout salad was well presented with arugula, mixed greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and a healthy portion of smoked trout. Much of the food served is purchased from local farms. The breads are baked in-house. It's a good idea to check the website before a visit since dining hours sometimes change when a band is scheduled to perform . After lunch or dinner walk across the street to the Green Drake Gallery for more fine art ( jewelry, pottery, watercolors and oils). There's music there, too.
