Description: Situated on the Sawkill Creek, in Milford, PA the Waterwheel Café, Bakery & Bar was started in April of 1989 in a restored 19th century water-powered mill, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in the early 1800's this lively example of American history is now in action and its doors are open to the public. Water rushes over the three-story high water-wheel, driving a series of shafts, gears, pulleys and belts that once powered the stones & grain-milling equipment, all visible through the glass walls of the Café & Bar. Starting at first as a bakery & lunch café the Waterwheel has grown into a full scale restaurant, bakery and bar-serving breakfast & lunch daily with dinners being served Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. Waterwheel's customers are comfortable in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The kitchen staff consistently prepares a fresh and flavorful eclectic menu that excites not only the palate, but the eye as well.

We have been coming to this place for many years and although the management seems to have changed along the way the food is still wonderful. If you are lucky to get a table by the windows your view will be extra nice. The breakfast is scrumptious and their breads out of this world. Lunch, which we tend to show up for ,is mostly an array of sandwiches, soups and desserts.. They have many choices and some sound very daring, but our choices have been very tasty.Getting into the parking is not good. The location of the cafe makes it difficult,. So take note. Get there early for lunch and you should be fine. There are several stores around them that are nice to browse .It has always been a good experience..Again, love the bakery...

You have to stop in on Thursday nights after 9:00 for the Blues Jam. Cozy bar with great a great atmosphere and great music. Drinks are pricey but you get it all back in the music. Art lovers can check out new work every couple of months. On good nights, the old water wheel is running behind the stage. Really cool place.

Nice spot with divine food choices. Quaint and comfortable. Food quality great. Lovely settings. Different areas to sit and enjoy your meal-outside deck, enclosed sunroom porch, or main dining by the Water Wheel. Pasteries and breads for individual purchases. So nice that I may have absent mindedly over left a tip after paying for lunch. The experience was that good it didn't even phase me to leave a $10.25 tip-instead of $1 and .25, if I did in addition to paying for my meal which was only $9.61.

Ranges of food choices - vegan to steak and daily specials. Wonderful appetizers, and exotic variations from the "normal" humdrum lunch experience.

Would recommend going during slow times of the day though not peak lunch. Staff a little short with customers at those particular times-overly crowded points of the day. Little things like getting refills and the bill took a bit too long. Some places need to remember that critics come in all shapes, sizes, and classes. Every customer means something regardless of appearance.

Decent prices and good food, although it gets crowded during the fast times for meals. I recommend stopping by the other shops in the old mill and taking the walking tour as well.
